Comparing Brees to Culpepper is like comparing apples and oranges there isn't any. Brees is a nice accurate QB clearly in the second tier talent wise but very capable. SD was arguably as good as the two teams that went to the SB last year and they didn't even make the playoffs. Brees while good, doesn't have to be game planned for and he isn't dangerous. He will get a team wins, much like Pennington but he doesn't have the gun to scare the really good teams.

Culpepper on the other hand is an elite talent. Outside of Palmer and Manning, there isn't a more talented QB in the league. He is now going to a team that will have a solid d and a solid running attack. With Saban putting a premium on reducing errors Culpepper is going to be scary. Miami will be able to grind teams on both sides of the ball and have the capability of striking any part of the field on any play they choose.

It all depends on the condition of that knee.

That's different, as big a pain as he is in the LR and off the field he is a truly great player and a winner. I do NOT want Miami getting Owens.

Yep, the reason he had a 13 rating against the Giants was the Minny D and it's the reason he only scored 17 against Ari and 10 against Wash. It's all his D's fault.

carson palmer led the bengals to the playoffs last year and Cincy was 22nd in points allowed and Cincy was in a much tougher div than daunte has ever been in and a much tougher conf.

In '04 favre's D was 23rd and he led them to 10 wins.

last year Minny was 19th and Brad Johnson led them to 9 wins after Culpepper's putrid start.

Seattle was 22 2 years ago and Hasslebeck led them to a div title.

SL was 25 in '04 and 31 in '00 and made the playoffs both times.

Excuses are all you are giving me for Daunte. The facts are it's not his D's fault he can't even get into the playoffs, it's his choking ability. Even when marino had bad D's he led Miami into the playoffs alot more than he didn't. Abad D might prevent advancing or becoming a Champion but if you are as "great" as he supposedly is w/ the weapons he has around him he should be able to get to the postseason a bit more.

You need posts like that to ease your fears, huh? Face Daunte is an elite talent but that does not translate to the field. Jeff George was an elite talent too as was Ryan Leaf. Culpepper is all about #s and #s don't help you win in January.

Culpepper is 2 and 2, same as Penny in the playoffs, Brees is 0 for 1. Cullpepper has a 3 and a 4 TD playoff game. He lost both playoff games to the teams that went to the SB.

Congrats by the way. You guys probably just made the pick up of the year.

I hate the dolphins as much as always, but once pepper recovers from his injury you will be happy.

2-2 in the weak NFC, Chad is 2-2 in the MUCH tougher AFC. Daunte does not have 1 playoff appearance if that Viking team played in the AFC. Daunte ahs been a full time starter for 5 years and has 2 PO appearances(1 of them at 8-8), Chad has been a full time starter for 2 years(the other 2 years he was hurt) and has guided his team to the div rd each time he has played at least 3/4 of games. Chad's problem is his durability, Daunte's problem is his choking.

Both the Giants and the Eagles at home would have ate Chad alive. The Jets with Chad were built around Martin.

^well the Giants at home wouldn't really be too much of an "At home" game.

Well at least they'll get value out of Culpepper giving up a 2nd...Unlike the AJ Feely fiasco...

Culpepper is a good QB to me...He'll have an offense of Brown,McMike and Chambers to be around, not bad at all...But part of his game is his ability to scramble when the pocket breaks down, but tearing a ACL,PCL, and MCL, it won't be that easy.

His interception average is about 1.06 per game, incase you didn't know - that's pretty good.

He's lost an average of 5 fumbles per season for his entire career, big deal.

Not a healthy 2002 or early 2004 Chad, we were defintiely better than that Giant team and as good, if not better, than that Eagle team.

Come on junc. The 2000 Giants may not have been a very impressive team in terms of other SB teams, but they got hot at the right time and played great in the playoffs. Not to mention the Jets were nowhere in the class of the 04 Eagles. You know, that team that was 13-1 in the competitive portion of the regular season, and went to the SB and were within a hair of knocking off the Patriots? This is where you get off track when you post nonsense like this and offer nothing to back it up other then "I said so".

That Giant team was humiliated in the SB against the same team the jets were competitive against and the Jets didn't even make the playoffs in the AFC. The '02 Jets were as good as the '04 Eagles, heck the '04 jets were closer to beating NE at NE than Philly was in the SB. I think the '04 Eagles were better than the Jets but the '02 Jets were at least as good and remember we took 15-1 Pitt to OT in the playoffs, we didn't get to play Minny and Atl.

Well the 02 Raiders were better than the 02 Jets and that's all that counts at the end of the day...

Yet - You freaked out and resorted to name calling when I gave my opinion of Brees.... Yesterday you LOVED Brees and I gave similar reviews as above - That Brees you don't need to game plan for, his arm doesn't keep people up at night and you can play a lot closer to the line.....
