Culpepper is nothing to sleep on, but better him than Brees, as others have said. On a side note, 457 users online, no slowdowns.
I feel pretty good, thanks for asking. There is no doubt Culpepper is an upgrade over Ferrotte but as a Jets fan I would rather Culpepper than Brees Qbing the Phins. He is a great player but his attitude, salary & injury would scare the crap out of me if I was a Phins fan.. I would say the chances are slim that he is the Dolphins QB earlier than mid season, by that time they'll be out of the PO hunt..
Yeah I'm pissed off. Miami is improving I must say. I think that us and them will soon be playing for our division for the next couple of years.
I keep reading everyone say "better him than Brees".... Why is that, I'm just curious???.... My thoughts on the whole situation : There's more information coming in, and now we're hearing that Saban and Co may have not liked what they saw after our doctors checked him out{Brees}. Take that into effect, add the cost he was demanding, and then make a logical decision... Sure, Culpepper has a knee issue, and that will hold him back some when he first gets healthy, but there's nothing wrong with his arm. Brees could end up like Pennington{no pun} in a couple of years if he has any further shoulder issues. I still think Brees is a great QB, but given the circumstances the Dolphins were facing, I think Saban made the right decision.... Both are excellent QB's, they just have different injuries. Take your pick....
I don't like his attitude, salary or injury. Plus the fact that he is a choker and has yet to have any success without Moss running underneath his bombs.. Also I just can't imagine he will be ready by opening day..
Even though Culpepper had an off year, he is still a big upgrade over Ferotte. This could put them into a 10 win or better season.
I think this is a good move... why? they needed a QB, they went out and got one of the best in the league. He didn't have Moss last year, and was adjusting, I think him and Chambers can do great things together, and if the land Owens, watch out. They are definetley improving, but some people have their green goggles on and can't see it.
The Dolphins were going to be better than the Jets next year either way, and Culpepper is an upgrade over what they had in a 9-7 year in 2005, assuming he's healthy (this is not "just a knee injury" - he tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL, which basically corresponds to a dislocation). I certainly don't buy the idea that he's a lousy QB, but (again, assuming health) I think Brees is better. I find it hard to believe that Saban would want Owens, given what happened in Philly. And if Culpepper thought Moss was a head case, wait till he sees TO.
Peyton is a big choker BUT he has great TEAM regs easons and is hard to beat, daunte has never been hard to beat. Peyton at least getshis team into the playoffs before he chokes while daunte does it in the reg season and Daunte looked brutal w/o Moss this year before he was hurt and he's damaged goods.
That's right, I forgot the QB was the only player on the team that mattered. For all the excuses people make for Peyton about the Colts defense, Daunte has never had a defense that could even dream of being half as good as one of those "bad" Colts D's. 24th, 26th, 30th, 23rd, 26th. Those are the ranks in the league in points against that Daunte has played with. He must really be a terrible player to only make the playoffs twice with those stellar units.
TO and the Tuna would make for one healthy marriage. Parcells could manage Keyshawn, because he had his respect. TO does not understand what respect means. This is gonna be freakin fantastic! As long as the Phins do not get him we are fine. Although Culpepper to Chambers will be a crazy combo (once Culpepper is healthy of course). Fitz
I just hope this means the Dolphins won't be picking Fiedler back up. We may have really dodged a bullet on this one.
