People are outraged in Miami over the proposal. BTW this was at the request of Goodell. One more reason to hate the guy. This "upgrade" would (of course) come at the taxpayers expense, yet there are so many better things to spend that kind of money on.
Ah okay, I haven't been in that area for a long time now and wasn't aware that the Bills had such a big following in South Florida. I guess that partly explains the reason for the drop off of the fanbase in Western New York and why the Bills are constantly flirting with other cities(Toronto,LA) and forfeit 1 home game per year
I like the way the inside looks, the aqua seats look a lot better then orange ones we have now. As far as the outside they need to go back to the drawing board because that roof is ridiculous looking. As far as we are concerned down here nothing will EVER replace the Orange Bowl. BTW I have to admit your new stadium is pretty sweet looking.
Drop off in the fanbase of WNY? Where are you getting your information? They had 55,000+ season ticket holders last year. They sold out every game last year. A 6-10 year. Toronto is about TV coverage, not drumming up fans for the Home games. Don't be afraid of learning facts. Top ten in average attendance at home this year. http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance
Speaking of facts, http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/17/nfl-sellouts-have-become-easier-but-not-for-bills/ It's a little bit more complex than raw attendance numbers. I was hoping you'd catch on to that. Enjoy the read.
First of all, that is just a complex way of saying Buffalo is a small market, which we all know. Second, the Bills in 1970 played in a smaller stadium (War Memorial aka "The Rockpile") ~45,000 seats. Ralph Wilson Stadium currently is~73,000 seats. That alone is going to skew the data. Third of all why the hell are we even discussing this. I just showed you the easiest way to see if the Bills are drawing fans, and that's gate receipts. You showed me the marketing difficulties that The Bills face. Buffalo Fans are some of the best in the league in supporting their club. That is just a simply known fact. You can come up with pie charts, use Standard deviations, send probes to Mars, it won't matter, the people of Buffalo love their team, even when they suck balls for 10 straight years. Keep twisting the data and living in your fantasy that the Bills are in trouble of relocating, they aren't. They're not moving to Toronto, nor L.A. They are staying put. People forget that the Packers played 3 home games a year in Milwaukee for almost 40 years, and guess where the Packers are today? Yup, Green Bay.
Well at least they would be playing a brand of football that is out of this world. [rimshot]. Thank you folks. I'll be here all week, try the veal.......
Note to the Dolphins Organization. Rain isn't keeping the fans away from filling up that football stadium. The team and their gay owners are.
A bit off the topic, but as a marketing guy I'm curious about this. Who made a deal paying to put their name on a stadium that expires less than a month before they host a Super Bowl? Isn't maximum exposure the whole idea of buying naming rights? Maybe they wanted too much money for the Super Bowl but you think Land Shark would have figured a way to get in on it if they were laying out money for naming rights in the first place. I'm sure all those highly anticipated Marlins games were nice, but how did they miss the Super Bowl by a few weeks? And now there is no name sponsor, just Dolphin Stadium? Odd.
Other teams have upgraded their capacities as well, and aren't experiencing any where near the hard ship that your Bills are. Interestingly enough, LandShark(or whatever it's called now) is easier to fill than Orange was(even with similar capacities). Could it be thanks to your 40,000 Bills fans in the area? Hmm Who are a publicly owned team.
Wow, you are just clueless. Get back to me when you learn something. EDIT: Here's a little article from before the 2008 season. Enjoy..... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/preview08/columns/story?id=3530077
