How many times has Harrison been fined? I think its at three or four? And Goodell chooses fines from his ass. No one he does anything to lessen the chances of Peyton Manning winning a playoff game.
Eric Smith was suspended for an accidental helmet to helmet hit just a couple years ago. This hit was no accident, it was malicious. If one of the Jets did that I would absolutely expect a suspension.
Blindside hit? Really? He was looking right at him and put his head down. It was a BS call anyway you look at it. Goodell has pussifide the league.
yeah i dont think it deserves suspension, but from what goodell said a few weeks ago it would be? or would it? goodell doesnt even know the fucking rule he made.
He hit him from the side dead on in the head. The guy saw him at the last second and tried to brace for contact, otherwise, it pretty much was a blindside hit. The guy had no chance of even coming close to the returner. I mean, if that's not suspendable, then IDK what is.
Biased much? Watch the clip again, Amato runs due south at the Indy endzone then his head turns and follows Bethea without leaving him. The hit may not have been in the numbers, but it was blindside as they come; there's no way he saw this hit coming.
I voted yes for 2 reasons 1. I don't want him to play Saturday 2. If it was a Jet, he would have been exiled from the league, the Jets would have to forfeit the playoffs and Rex would have to do 5 interviews with Mike Francesa to restore his standing with Bill Parcells
Ummmmm. . . . yeah. Let's consider that it's the rules committee that puts these rules in place, shall we? Now I wonder. Who's. On. The. Rules. Committee. I'll haffa look it up. Back afta dis.
Try using the pause button on the clip. He turns his head and is looking right at him. Im not going to get in a pissing match to convince anyone of this. After seeing that and knowing you have to play him Saturday night, I would be scared too.....
Right, so a last second "oh fuck" negates the blindside element, does it? Tell you what, if Calvin Pace or Bart Scott puts a hit even half as nasty on the mighty forehead this weekend you'll all be whining like bitches about it until Thanksgiving.
But I mostly had Bill Polian in mind. Whose crowning achievement on the Rules Committee was to have installed a "point of emphasis" on receiver contact so that small and quick receivers couldn't be knocked around like in old time football with Eddie Shore and Toe Blake. Or. . . wait. But anyway, a Colts fan complaining about rules taking physical play out of the game seems to me as, at the very least, ironic. On some other sunny day, I might just call it hypocritical.
Yes, and also that bloke that runs the Indianapolis Colts, Bill Polian - think that's what Sunday is getting at. Every time someone sneezes on Peyton Manning in the playoffs, a new rule is made. The hypocrisy in the room is like a fog of blue and white crack smoke.
Sorry, I didn't realise it was rhetorical - I didn't know that Polian was on the committee. I see the point.
I guess I must be crazy, but I don't see anythng cheap about that hit. The defender was getting in position to make a tackle and Brackett made the block. It was unfortunate that their heads collided, but he made a good football play. Things are really getting ridiculous. I defy anyone to look at that play and tell me the block was unnecessary or excessive. The play was right in front of him! it wasn't away from the play at all. They're playng football.
