We improved from last season, but we might have a worse record (I'm predicting 8-8). That means that we will have a high draft pick in a good draft (2008 is much better than 2007), and we'll have an easier schedule; all while our team improves for 2 consecutive seasons. 2008 anybody??
Come on SJ, don't toss softballs... Happy Monday, Donte! Look on the bright side: You're that much closer to a ring!!!
Sure. 2008 sounds as good as any year. I'll form my opinion as to whether it's possible when I see how Tannenbaum and Mangini's offseason actually affects us in 2007. I wish I was as happy with them as I was before the draft though. I should have seen it coming though, trading 4th and 6th last year for players who had already failed on other teams was kind of a glaring giveaway that maybe our dynamic duo might be Robin and Robin.
Not that I would bet against that, DW, but you've got to admit it's one of several (mmm. . . how do I put this. . . ) uncomfortable issues surrounding the receiving corps. Like when you're watching television with your mom and feminine products commercials come on. Your pass-catchers will be ugly-good, but here are a few looming issues that the New England press will hammer-away at until nausea sets in: (1) What to do with Troy Brown? Always the good soldier. Sacrificed stats for teamwork. Now replaced with an updated version of himself in Wes Welker. If he doesn't choose retirement, how on earth do you cut THAT guy? (2) Which two of the three do-nothing Florida Gators do you cut? (3) Which one of the two Tennessee Vols goes off the reservation first? (4) What happens when all the one-year receiver contracts expire? By the way, I need to talk business with you. Look for my email later this afternoon.
How's is the sticky icky in Boston? And will Antwan Barnes get stomped on by Brandon Meriweather when you play Baltimore? hmy:
I hate to say this We can just give the Pats the SB right now. There no way the Jets can even come close to them and I can't think of another team out there that can't either. Who in the hell going to be able to Tom and that WR cor..
Maybe we could wait until we actually play them to cast judgment? People could get injured, there new guys might not jell, who the hell knows? If we lost the opener 56-10 then I would expect posts like this, but we're not even in the preseason yet.
Stallworth and Moss will be the "Hamstring Brothers". Niether of them will play that much with those bad hammies. Jets will overtake the Pats this year and it begins when we beat them week 1. Go Jets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the words of former Steelers Safety Lee Flowers, "mannn......they ain't nuthin but paper champs!" aka that is why they play the games on sundays
I never said I believed we we're in position to take the division. What I said was that to sit here and complain that we haven't done enough before even a preseason game is played is kinda silly. Some teams look great on paper, but it doesn't always work out that way on the field.
