Does anyone actually think we did enough to overcome the Patriots?

Maybe because Pennington can't reach him.

The matchup is not Rhodes and Harrison. It's Rhodes and Meriweather, which I gave to Rhodes convincingly.

    I agree on Vilma.

We'll see on Revis (tossup in my book atm.)

    I agree on Cotchery.

Coles - Moss is a tossup. If Moss comes to play he's worth a LOT more, if he doesn't then Coles is worth more.

My 3 winners: Cotchery, Vilma, Rhodes
My 6 losers: McCareins/Smith, Hobson, Barton, Thomas (Colvin has done it multiple years), Dyson, , ESmith
My 4 tossups: Coles, Revis, Barrett, EColeman

Oops, gonna whoops here. Rhodes beats Harrison on age and injury issues and EColeman and Meriweather are a tossup.

Bad matchup. Stallworth is going to be the Pats #2 receiver and Caldwell the slot guy.

Coles - Moss is a tossup at the moment.
    Cotchery wins Cotchery - Stallworth
Caldwell beats whoever the Jets have in the slot.

Listen... you're all getting down int he dumps and I dont want to be the guy to say "cheer up" but seriously guys, cheer up. This draft acquired not one but TWO cornerstones to our defense. We finally have a run-stopping LB and a complete shutdown CB with punt return capabilities. We plugged a hole at the offensive line and found Coles' understudy.

Not to mention off season moves... Jones will bring a dominant running game to our offense to take the pressure off Chad and he can seriously help the blocking aspect of our offense. We upgraded with an OLB and two DEs. We had NO major losses on our team.

Am I missing something guys? Are you getting my point? Listen, the Jets have their hands full with the Patriots, I wont lie... but we're a far cry from being screwed against them. As I recall, we went toe-to-toe with the Patriots three times this year and beat them once. The two times we lost to them we VERY close games. Sure they made big moves this off season, but we didnt have to. They didn't really have a solid recieving corps and their LB corps was aging rapidly. The Pats will need to deal with the distraction of Asante Samuel who has yet to sign his tender. They'll have Moss criticizing them if he doesn't get the ball enough times and Brady firing back at Moss.

We made enough moves to remain competitive and a gigantic thorn in their side. I am VERY pleased with our off season and draft and it ain't over till it's over.

I learned a long time ago not to project a player at higher than the level he currently is. It's just too easy for something to go wrong and for him not to turn out.

Revis looks really good but if you think he is a shutdown corner based on where he went in the draft and what we paid for him I have news for you: none of that will mean anything when he steps on the field in training camp.

Do I want him to be the next Aaron Glenn? Oh yeah, badly. But I'm not going to pretend that's what he is before he pulls a Kerry Rhodes and starts actually doing it. Potential and $3.95 gets you a venti latte at Starbucks.

I'm even less convinced by Harris. Could he be really good? Sure. Could he be just okay? Sure. Could he get hurt and keep us from ever finding out the answers to the questions above? Well I'll leave that one to you to answer.

The Pats will self destruct with Moss and the head stomping thug they drafted. We beat them once last year with a whole new regime and we will do the same again. SCREW THE PATS!!! Also all the moves the Pats have been doing is because poor old Bill is starting to get worried about the JETS and Mangini. They have won numerous rings without making these kinds of moves. I think they're are getting desperate!!! Wait and see!

Look, I hate the Patriots as much as anyone else on this board. I hate them. I hate Brady. I hate Bellicheck. Most of all, I hate their fans.

That being said, I do not obsess over every move the Patriots make. I am a Jets fan. I obsess over the Jets moves. When the Patriots signed Moss this morning, I thought about it for about 6 seconds, formed an opinion, and that was that. These things just don't effect me that much. Obviously, I'm in the minority around here.

Odds are any team can beat the Pats once or twice out of every 10 meetings. But you didn't have a chance in hell doing it when it counted...in the playoffs. That's typical of a fan of a team that hasn't won in 40 years to brag about a meaningless regular season game.

Bill Belichick is really not too concerned about his former water boy Mangini. He's much more concerned with teams like the Chargers

If Brady Blows out a knee, they are done, if he's healthy they are in the SB next year.

    Hehe.

Everytime I see a quote like that I think about that great commercial making the rounds right now with all the guys at their fantasy NFL draft.

Nerd1: I'll take hushmanlay. Mark it on the board!

    Nerd2: Who?

Nerd1: hooshmanalana. Mark it on the board!

    Nerd 2: Hooch... Wha?

    Nerd1: Hoosomadznads <trails off>

    Nerd2: Oh, Houshmandzadeh?

Nerd1: Yeah, Hoomardzaneh. Mark it on the board!

    Nerd1: <under his breath> championship...

So now your 2 draft picks are cornerstones before playing a single NFL game? Interesting. I like Revis, bur Harris... a cornerstone? Hmmm. I just hope our 1st rounder (Meriweather) can play in the NFL. Not every pick can play.

Anyway, enjoy kicking our ass twice this year. It's all I read here so it must be true. I just hope we can keep up and make the game close. Nothing like counting your chickens before they hatch.

As for Moss, well, it's low risk. We had many 4th round picks, he restructured his contract, and we'll cut his ass if he becomes the disruptive force that the Gang Green psychics have already stated will happen. I place no expectations on it. I just hope we can stay close to the Jets this season, as every year I read on here how our run is over and you'll overtake us. I guess it's bound to happen sometime, right?

In all seriousness, the draft is a damn tease. I want the season to start this week, and we are so far away.

    Not Yet

It's too early to tell, but the Pats definately didn't get any weaker then last year that's for sure. I think we made some good moves for our D, but we still need alot more talent to be dominant. Give us another year or two and then this division will have a new Master.
