Not me. I completely agree. The cracks in Rex's armor began to show last season and it carried over to this year. Rex is on a downward spiral and unfortunately for him, we're not in a position to sign big time free agents or get a franchise QB. I don't think he can spot young talent and he's not the best at coaching them. The man has got to go. If he stays, then it's inevitable he will be fired after next season. He can't win through the draft. Just isn't that type of coach.

What good NFL head coach consoles his crappy QB in the locker room after a game? This isn't kindergarten. Players coaches suck.

I want Jim Harbaugh as my coach.

I think it's more likely someone from above told him to try and get Sanchez to work until the playoff possibility is no more.

I want Rex to stay. I think our defense drops big time if he loses, and especially should stay if we hire Norv as OC

I think Rex should get one more year to get this shit straightened out. We're just about all out of scapegoats as Schotty is gone, Sparano God willing will be gone, Tannenbaum will have a different job title and the Great Tebow experiment will finally be over. If the team doesn't bounce back next year, then its time to move in a different direction.

I would imagine after 5 years of this media and fanbase, Rex will pretty much be ready to move on anyway. Perhaps then, Woody will get a new and effective management team in place, forget about this mad rush for headlines and let the team's performance sell itself.

that is the key, an effective management team.

whether rex is a part of that i dont know but there needs to be better leadership. i dont want to see tannenbaum in his sweatpants acting like a teenager. i want a guy who will lead, who will be respected.

Rex is the 2d or 3rd best Jets HC ever. He stays w/marching orders to fix that offense.

Couldn't the same thing be said about mark? Not saying he should be the QB, but anytime you make a switch, it usually signifies the rebuilding phase, which it looks like we will ber going into very soon (if we aren't already in it).

Granted he doesn't have the tools but he picked the QB and Sporano? please. The GM intrusted RR with making the draft choices and giving away picks. How can you justify drafting Oconner as a fullback. Jeez, you can get a blocker off the scrap heap and not waste a pick. He is a good DC and that's it. He doesn't know nor care to manage the other two divisions of the team which are special teams and the offense. How did our special teams do this year? Westhoff was ready for the pasture last year and the Jets are so cheap they try to find bargain basement punters and kickers. Ironically since most of Jets games are won or lost by a field goal you would think the Jets would invest in a good punter, especially since our offense sucks. Who made the decision to play Ducasse every third series even though the guy sucks.

But the kicker was hiring Sporano who is an idiot. I can't stand it when they pull QBs out and put in another wild cat play and throw off the any timing the offense has. That is on RR because he hired Sporano. How many teams are going to the ground and pound theme? Most teams have throwing QBs and as alluded to, Harbaugh had the balls to pull Smith because Kaepernick can spread the field and put up more points.

As for him being a joke how many times prior to this year did he say we were going to be in the SB? Most coaches try to keep a low key but he just loves to here himself talk regardless of how stupid his comments are. Like his latest comment which is "we have three QBs that can start in the NFL" really?

Once again Rex showing how stupid he is by letting someone other than the QB come in and break up the rhythm on offense. I don't want to hear this is Sparano's fault because the head coach should be smart enough to put a stop to it. How the hell can Rex be the head coach when he's scared to step in and overrule the OC?? Fire this clown.

Hell yes he stay's. Now that he is more toned down and has been humiliated. He will be more humbled. That's the rex I want. Stay outta the media and get to work. Our problem is our GM,scouts or whoever thought sanchez was a franchise QB?

I am one of the people that came to this board because of Tebow. I only registered to post because of that Concerned Citizen bot you have here.

That said what are you guys seeing in Ryan? Why wouldn't you want to replace him? To an outsider there is absolutely no chance he will ever have much success. Most teams want to win Super Bowls on a consistent basis. What are you seeing that makes you think Ryan will ever be able to do that?

How can you blame anyone for this mess besides Ryan? You guys complain about your GM a lot, but to me this looks like a bed Rex Ryan made for himself.

Keep him if you want, but I'd advise you not to expect too much. Not an expert on Jets coaches, but I'd guess Weeb is number one, with Parcells number two. If Ryan is number three...geez that's awful. I'm trying to think of Jets coaches. Mangenius was the coach once right? I think you guys had a Kozlowski once too. I have some mental image of a blonde guy in a green shirt with a headset that pops into mind when I think of that name.

Total blank on the others. Kind of weird, you guys have the market to really be a big time team. I guess the owner must play into this to a large extent as well. The Jets really haven't had a lot of national appeal since the early 70's. Unless he is complicit in things it's hard to understand why you've only had a few really good teams since then.

I like Rex Ryan, I think he can be a very good coach and has learned a huge lesson about neglecting the talent on offense... But when things happen, such as Sanchez and Tebow being listed at the #2 QB, and the only reason for that to be can be because of he is afraid of basklash from god knows who, it makes me think he really can't lead a football team.

I guess want to clarify. If we get a new GM and he wants a new coach, I'm fine with Rex leaving. I'm not fine with Rex being the scapegoat with Sparano and/or Tanny staying.

I really cannot understand how Rex is winning
this poll. He's a terrible head coach; and knows nothing
about the offensive side of the ball.

    I Need to Know...

...all you Rex Ryan love boys, please lay out for me the specific reasons why Rex Ryan is a great head coach and why we need to keep him. My argument - the team has steadily gotten worse under his watch, which is the opposite of the way it's supposed to go, as I recall. Go ahead, Ryan buttboys, make your case.

Not great, but he's good enough to get us to an AFC Championship game, obviously. The talent that TANNENBAUM acquired is very, very bad. Just get him some good talent, and we can go places.

It'll take us a couple of years, but we will be there.

It depends on who acquired the talent. If it's Rex, sure he should leave but why is our coach being GM on top of coaching?

The talent has been upgraded once under REx, from his first to second season. The talent has been downgraded the next seasons and the team has gotten worse. It seems the majority of problems seem to be talent and roster related not scheme related.

    ... I just don't understand

how do you draft such horrible picks.

    then hit gold with Wilkerson/Coples.

Inconsistent just like our "Starting" QB

^isnt Ryan involved in personnel decisions? And if not, why hasn't he demanded to be? If my butt was on the line, you can bet I would be involved. So is he stupid, or he just doesn't care?
