It's funny. I've been diehard Yankee fan since I can remember. But I've loved the Jets longer. As a kid I never watched the NFL but hated Seattle because UW always clobbered the Ducks. I picked two nfl teams out of a hat, the Jets and another team I can't remember who else. I chose the Jets because of their uniforms. Twenty years later the Ducks are one of the greatest powers in CFB. The Jets can't even turn on the lights. But I luv em.

    NEVER
Jet fan for life. I go through the ups and downs with the team. Obviously right now we're in a down but once we get a Super Bowl it will make it that much sweeter. I'm emotionally attached to the jets. i love the jets

Some of you fans don't realize what this season means. If Jets only win 3 games this season they could be doomed for 10 years or more. Teams that win only 3 games don't just flip a switch and make it to the playoffs the next season.

I never said I would root for another team. How would I look myself in the mirror?

I'm just saying I would stop being a Jets fan. Maybe I would watch NFL games and just cheer for (or against) a few players. Maybe I won't watch NFL games. I haven't figured out that part yet.

Hate to say it, but if winning was mattered most I'd have left the Jets long, long ago.

I`ve been done financially supporting this team after the inaugural season in this craphole the Giants built. had tickets from 1985 till then(scalped the entire 1984 season which led to me getting season tickets). I have been telling fans to stop throwing their money at Woody. It`s starting to work some now but those with PSLs are basically stuck. They are the ones who need to make the decision to stop. Just give the PSLs up back to Woody. Why anyone would ever "lock themselves in bed" with this franchise was beyond me. I guess they thought they were getting something special.

No matter what. Remember Jim Kensil. He makes Idzik look like a genius. Unlike my kids who only root for good teams. I root for the Jets!

Not going to find many who will jump ship on here... We are all Jets for life. Anyone else can take their ass off this board. Go to NYC and you can find many former Jets fans wearing Broncos or Giants jerseys. I notice them at the sports bars, when the Jets were winning they had Jets stuff on, after the first two bad years they switched to Ravens/Seahawks/Colts/Broncos. We are not that type on here, we actually love the Jets. Not for the feint of heart.

I've often wondered what it would be like to have an NFL team in Portland. The PDX/Vancouver area is bigger than some NFL markets. Seattle still thinks PDX is part of its territory. It isn't!

I curse my older brother for being a Jet fan first.
I curse my Dad for getting us tickets at Shea.
I curse myself for not bailing to the Cowboys, Steelers in 70's or Niners , Skins, Giants etc, in 80's
I curse myself for contaminating my children who are now Jet fans. ( I am a bad parent)

But, No I will never leave them.

If I could have I would have by now. I live in Massachusetts only about 10 minutes from Gillette stadium. If only I could force myself to be aPats fan my life would be so much easier.

    LOL!

Real talk though, I agree with you Joe. I love this team - they are a bunch of fuck-ups but when I chose the Jets in 97, I knew there was no turning back. I just can't see myself rooting for another team...

Nope. I'll take all the crap we get. It is what it is. This will never take away my love for the game.

Hmmmm, no... but I just stopped taking them as seriously anymore. There are many more important things in life than getting upset over a freaking football team. I remember how sick I felt after the AFC Championship Game against the Broncos in 1999. I literally could not eat for a couple of days. As I grew older, it's now more like... Duh! Did you really expect any other outcome? :)
I no longer buy Jets jerseys, but did buy Jets hats for both of my kids earlier this year. God, they are too little to know what their dad is getting them into....

The best Sundays are the ones when I don't watch football. Try it out some time.
