Everybody has thoughts, you can't deny it. But we remain loyal. I don't plan on ever leaving the Jets behind.
When they play really badly, I sometimes wish Woody would move the team to LA so I have a way out of all of this. I wouldn't support them if they left the area no matter what their record is. They would no longer be the New York Jets. I dropped the Nets once they left Jersey and haven't looked back since.
These type of threads make me smile. Does it hurt like hell that this team is the absolute pits at the moment , of course it does BUT you support a team regardless of the win/loss column otherwise you end up like the stereotypical Pats / Yankees / Chelsea fan.. I watched my team til almost 5am the other week on ero hours sleep I went to work bummed we lost to our greatest rivals...did it hurt..of course but I would do it all again for that one or two moments of absolute gold. We have had a decent last 10 years , people forget this and yes we all want the Superbowl. Lets suck it up and take the hits that come our way and move on.....oh and I remember 96 and this is NOTHING like that team...not one bit
The thoughts crossed my mind but I could never really do it, I love football and honestly couldn't root for another team as much as the jets. It wouldn't feel the same
I admit I was a late bloomer to Jets fandom. My parents were Giants fans, brother a Raiders fan, and I grew up as basically a fantasy football fan without even playing it growing up. I rooted more for players, the players I wanted to grow up to be like. So I considered myself a Lions fan and Niners fan growing up because of Sanders and Rice, and I would change allegiances when I found a new favorite player. Flavor of the week kind of thing. Once it dawned on me that I should probably pick a team, I was probably a freshman in high school. Decided I want to root for a team that I can watch every week (and this was all sports), so that's when I really would say I became a Mets and Jets fan and have been loyal since. Don't plan on ever changing, because how can you? I regret not picking a team until so late, but I think I've made up for it since with my commitment to them. Only time I slightly wavered was the principles with signing Vick, and then I thought about that a little more and realized that there's plenty of shit with every team that people are "supporting". I'm not condoning what he did or what any other player does with his personal life, just as I'm not condoning the garbage they're putting on the field right now, but I'm a fan of the Jets and to be quite honest, dealing with all the losing at least can make you appreciate the victories that much more. Maybe not this season, but in general...think of how pumped you were when we were in those AFC Championship Games. I know it's a thing of the past, but c'mon. What's the fun in rooting for another team? You won't be able to enjoy those victories!
I'll only leave the Jets if the Jets leave New York. Say they become Los Angeles Chorros or something
Never leaving the jets. I bleed green. There's no changing teams in REAL fanhood. We suck oh well. It'll just feel all that much better when we get ours .. Knowing that i stuck around 16 yrs of my 23 year old life and counting will make it all that much more special
