So true. I don't understand how you can fault a first-year GM without even having seen the product on the field.

I think Idzik is doing a fine job. I admit that I was not impressed with the first round of the draft, but getting Geno and some lineman really helped. It is too early to really give any judgement.

Idzik is doing just fine, playing the hand he was dealt. It is beyond ridiculous to judge him at this point. The absolute earliest we can begin to make a call is about 14 months from now.

JMHO U ought to tone down your esteem for GS until you see him play the elite of the NFL

Seconded. Geez, you would have to lure Rogers from GB, AP from the Vikes and Calvin from the Lions to make some people satisfied.

Idzik and Marty may be the best GM OC tandem this team has had in decades, and people are getting pissy in TC after a great draft. Lighten up.

building a team doesn't happen that quickly...this mentality is what got us here to begin with....

I don't think anybody could have come here as our new GM and turned this team into a great, playoff team right off the bat. With how this team has been, it's damn near impossible. Idzik is doing a pretty good job in laying down the foundation in order to hopefully finally becoming a successful team in the next couple of years. We're not that far, but we aren't that close as of yet offensive wise. Let's see how they do in preseason and regular season before we can judge even a little bit. It's only his first year anyway.

What is refreshing is for once, Jet fans are showing a lot of patience and restraint when it comes to our new FO. We've seen what quick fixes can do but the reality is, we need long term sustained successes, not just for a year or two. Folks really need to be patience and give Idzik time to either succeed or fail. This team didn't get in the shitter overnight, and it won't come out of it overnight either.

If we retool with a lot of high-priced free agents next year, we'll be back in the same hole in three or four years. We need to try a different way out of the hole this time, one that prevents us from sliding back in straight away.

I have No real problem with our rb situation it's ok if Ivory can play , I have no issues with the entire team except the wr's And safteys, sorry after what we endured last season At wr I wanted some kind of change in that area right away,I don't have the pateince some of you have that maybe in 4 years Idzik can put together a great team, between buttfumbles and trading the best Jet since Namath I don't have the patients the rest of u have

It's not just Jets fans, it's fans of other teams in the New York area as well.

Step one in building a good team is good coaching. I think that with Rex on the D and MM on the O we should be ok. Granted MM hasn't proven a thing in NY yet, but JI went out and got a good one, that's all we can ask for. Step two is to start rebuilding from the inside out, that is the lines. Both in the draft and in free agency Idzik worked this year to upgrade the lines. What more can you ask for? next year we'll use the many draft choices and the $ we'll have for free agents on the skill positions. Have a little patience. I know that after 44 years it's asking a lot to ask for patience, but what choice do you have? If you don't like it you can always root for another team. Idzik is doing it right and all we can do is hope that it works.

We worked out Austin Collie I heard a few weeks back , we passed on him but the 49ers a legit contender signed him today, this is what drives me crazy about the Jets , sure Collie may not be what he use to be but we could use another veteran at wr to help Geno if nothing else, We just lack talent at wr so how is Sanchez or Geno suppose to succed with no trustworthy targets to throw the ball to,it's a real problem that I don't see changing even next year, if last season wasn't enough to Add any new wr's then what will it take , might as well punt the shitty ball on first down

I'm much more concerned with the RB position. Granted, Ivory may just be riding the bike to give the hammy more time to heal, but he's got a bit of an injury history, and Goodson, well... Not really sure what's up with Goodson. Today McKnight got hurt. Rex said that if it was serious someone would have told him, but 3 of our top backs? Yea, I'm a bit concerned....

I agree. If Ivory is really okay and they are just keeping him off the field as a precaution, I'm only a little comfortable about our RB situation. However, I've been saying this all along, if Goodson returns, and Ivory can play as well, our RB situation will be something to actually be excited about, IMO.

They will STILL complain even if Idzik builds the entire Roman empire equivalent of a NFL franchise overnight. Anything less? They are going to blow full steam.

Especially when that GM had a whole $5 to put a good portion of that product together. Let's see what happens next year when we've got 8+ picks and money to work with.
