Thank you! This times 100. He was good in college, and is having a rough rookie year. I was a big Devin defender at the beginning of the season, but I have no more excuses for him. He is definitely struggling this season. But it is his first season. Give him time to adjust to the NFL before crucifying the kid. I think once he catches up that he's going to be good for us. He's got the speed and he's definitely got the hands. He just needs confidence, experience, and practice/studying. He wouldn't be the first guy to struggle his rookie year and then get much better with time nor would he be the last.
In fairness, Calvin Pryor was a piece of shit last year and somehow become an irreplaceable player. I'm willing to be patient with Devin. But you can argue he's directly cost us 2 games.
devin smith dropped that TD --- thank the gods it didnt get reviewed - he did not maintain possession.. im serious, not talking trash
Sure looked like the ball was out and made contact with the ground to me. But since we've had plenty of bullshit calls and non calls go against us this year I'm not complaining.
thank you abyzmul - the tip of that ball did hit the ground on one replay i saw… i was just sitting there nervous as hell, that the whistle would blow because of a review upstairs
I think during the offseason, Smith needs to hit the weight room and get both bigger and stronger so he can fight for the ball. Right now he looks a bit light in the ass against stronger corners and safeties.
You also wonder why our 3rd string QB is inactive instead of taking up a roster spot for someone that's actually going to play. Study up.
They did change the rule this year, as long as you maintain possession, the ball or a portion of it, can hit the ground. Read that on the interconnect.
Devin Smith jus went from sh*thouse to penthouse today Hope he has some confidence now This is NY not Ohio so he's gotta cut the mustard
