that's silly. if youre in the " I would love him " camp, you would have to be on board with giving up a 3. Or youre really not wanting him too bad. Youre talking about a clear number 1 receiver and you would only give up a 4? makes no sense

He might be cut so we most likely would have to give up a pick. But NE, CAR, SF, SEA are all interested in him too.

I think he wants more guaranteed money and is not as concerned with the annual salary. I would trade for him if we could restructure his deal to extend it to a 5 year deal at $30-40 million and pay him $20+ in guaranteed money. He is a known quantity as opposed to the rookies in the draft and Revis can't cover him.

I don't get why so many people are citing the fact that he has 'chemistry' with Vick as a reason that he's a good fit for the team. As far as I know, Vick hasn't been named the starting QB, and even if he did end up starting this season he still likely won't be around for long, especially with his injury history.

I think the Vick signing was a good move as far as having a viable second option at QB, but to base any signing on the assumption that they have good chemistry with Vick (even if it's only part of the reasoning) would make no sense IMO.

10.25 isn't bad for a guy that has the potential to take our offense to a level it hasn't been in decades.

Idzik's not sitting on as much money as we think right now. Using overthecap I have the Jets at $29M in space right now. Subtract $8M+ for the rookies and they're at $21M. That's $6M from the 89% they need to spend this year. Add in a few bargain free agents in May and June and the Jets could easily be at the 89%. Then the question is whether they are signing Mo Wilk this year or waiting to see if he can put up another year like last year before they make the big commitment. In either case the $15M is going to be a big part of that conversation.

Word out of Philly this morning is that he will be cut if a trade cannot be worked out. So he will demand more money if cut.

Why are you guys making these assumptions that Revis can't cover Jackson? Because he caught that one touchdown on him? Revis was in zone coverage. The safety was supposed to pick Desean up, but he didn't.

If you give up any draft pick in a trade for DJ then you will have to take over his contract. Only the Raiders are an org stupid enough to do that as we saw in the Schaub trade. Just two years ago they traded for Carson Palmer and then cut him. So unless Jackson is willing to take a pay cut (and he isn't) then just wait until the Eagles cut him. Then bring him in for a visit. And maybe sign him for Decker money which would be a good deal and no draft picks lost. But what you might be getting then is another Holmes.

Getting DeSean Jackson would make some people that have slammed Izdik rethink there stance on him....it would be awesome, and if we get him It opens us up in round one to take BPA, not basically have to take a WR or TE.

With rookie salary restrictions, they will count roughly 5 mill of the cap

That *IS* all of the rookies combined, assuming the Jets don't move around the draft board they should only need about 2m to sign all of them this year.
