1. Not going to lie, got a little excited at that thought...in my pants 2. Meh 3. Don't see too many flaws in his game but he annoys the shit out of me for whatever reason 4. Great athlete but up in age, we're already have a stop-gap next to Holmes 5. Looking for a starter 6. Good compliment to Holmes but he's going to be injured. Probably best to look at the draft.
So D-Mase was the reason our offense has sucked all along, good to know. Can't wait for us to drop 40 plus points on the Phins now that he is gone!
1 malcontent wide receiver down, 2 more to go. i didnt understand signing this old over the hill waste when we signed him but am glad he is gone. we have enough problems with the 2 douchebags who actually catch the ball every once in awhile to have to worry about listening to masons bitching.
Dunno, if it's me, I'm deciding whether a player stays or not. I'm not giving in just because he requests to leave, unless I was going to dump him anyway (or unless I can get something reasonable in a trade).
It may very well be, but by saying if he meets ALL criteria, I doubt it more than 40 catches or 400 yards at most. Very realistic in that offense for Mason, especially since AJ is out for a few wks.
Anyone who says we're better off without him is insane. Despite his age, he has been one of the most consistent receivers this decade.
I see T.O on this team this year Now that Mason is gone we need another vet WR and T.O would be great pick up. If he is healthy.
But all you're doing is filling a roster spot and paying a salary to no benefit of anyone, both of which can be taken by someone who wants to play and do their best.
I like the move if the Jets can get Pittsburgh to take the conditional pick for Cotchery. The man was hurt all last season and he still made two of the three most memorable plays by a WR for the Jets. Groin for broke and the 58 yard catch and run against the Patriots that lead directly to the 10 pt lead in the 4th quarter.
As I mentioned in my reply to JFaulk, Bowe and Colston are really the only two I would like to bring in but Bowe is going to cost too much and Colston is an injury guarantee. I wouldn't mind Steve Johnson either but like Bowe, I don't see his team letting him walk away. I agree on the draft being the better option. Cheaper and we need to develop this position from inside. Hey, I'm not against following the talent. I would rather see the FO get value at need positions than force selections due solely to priority. As you said, there is more WR talent than RT talent in the draft. I just feel that RT should be the first position the Jets should identify as a problem; part of that including allocating money for FA so they can focus on the draft later. I'll never have a problem with this team spending money on the OLine it's probably better for the Jets to develop a WR from within the system. Holmes isn't only a big contract but he's also the veteran leader on that team. Public criticisms of the offense and those in it notwithstanding, his teammates think he's a leader so he probably has some good qualities in the locker room.
It was a one year contract. He's 34 years old. He's probably leading the receiving corps in drops right now. What part of any of that screams return?
Rosenthal says "according to sources" the conditional pick is a bag of balls. I think they just wanted to get rid of him without paying his salary.
this is an opportunity for kerley to step up maybe he can give this offense a spark. i was never a fan of the mason signing.
Why is it that both of Sanchez's homies are still hanging in FP while Braylon, Cotchery, and Mason were all shown the door?
In all seriousness what are the thoughts on the now open roster spot? Someone from the PS or someone from outside the organization?
