He didn't really deserve the gold glove but it doesn't change the fact that he has possibly the best range at SS in baseball and is without a doubt the best shortstop in baseball at catching balls in the outfield.

The quality of the arguements against Jeter pretty much show you what an excellent player he is. It's like Denis Potvin and Rangers fans--when no Mets fan can really say anything about Jeter except "Jeter sucks!" or "Jeter and A-Rod are gay!" you know that a guy is good.

I wish saying "Matsui sucks" would have the same effect on him as it does on Jeter then, lol.

Sheffield has been pretty damn clutch. I think he led the AL or Majors in BA w/ RISP last year. Jeter is pretty clutch too, but this topic could be debated for millions of years without resolve.

Neither of them did jack to get them out of the first round. Yankee fans can debate it for millions of years... for the rest of us, it's not even a debate.

Andruw jones, has also been in the playoffs his whole career also but man, who is more clutch that is the point. Who has more hits in the playoffs? who has the best intangables? Who makes plays people love? Who knows when a hit is better than a homerun in the playoffs? C'mon man DJ is the man.

P.S. Who has more championships? DJ

In any playoff situation who would you rather have at the plate or on defense?

    David wright or derek jeter?

C'mon now put david wright in all situations jeter has been in te playoffs and we would not won 4 championships nor would he had made those spectacular plays that people talk about.

    Ok now, bye bye then.

DJ as the MVP?? Pass me that pipE! Everything RogerBlaze is talking about is team related or non measurable for individual players. Intangibles and cluchness are two ways of saying nonsense... Yankee fans beating their chest in April and eating their own 200 million dollar dick in the autumn is getting laughable. Where are all your might predictions? Seems most of you have quieted down considerably.... LOL!

Actually Jeter is very close to the bottom of the league in range, he has awful range. He was 31st out of 38 for 2005, a great improvement over his 2004 when he was dead last. Jeter's defense is mediocre, he makes solid plays on the balls he gets to, but his range is awful.

Does not even qualifying for the playoffs for six years count as choking?

Ah now your steadfast defense of Herm even after he's gone begins to make sense. It must be some kind of dyslexia that afflicts yourself and junc causing you to see the opposite of what is true in certain sports figures.

I don't think he was laughing at your spelling but rather your attempt to quantify something that by its definition cannot be quantified.
