I don’t believe he’s a bad player, I just think he was a better fit for Gase Scheme. This is why I’m opposed to trading back in the draft, take the good player in front of you not the one that needs more development later on.
I'd imagine we're probably getting a Tristan Wirfs/Devin White type package given the fact that we've had young Randy Moss on the roster all along.
cole ran an electric 4.33 at the combine. he's also a deep threat and a better route runner and that sideline catch was legit. I'm guessing moore takes over crowders role next year and we keep cole on the outside with davis. berrios and mims will be the main backups if mims isn't traded.
cole was not invited to the combine and ran in the high 4.5s at his pro day ... he's still a good deep threat tho
The point is they're in the same ballpark speed-wise and Moore is better at other things receivers do too.
your right. google has it listed at 4.33 because the article it pulls form about cole also has metcalf mentioned who ran the 4.33. fucking metcalf I can't believe how many teams passed on him. I wanted him so badly during that draft. we didn't have a 2nd because of the sam trade and we took polite in the 3rd 4 picks later. we could have traded up for metcalf at the cost of likely just bless austin maybe cashman instead. either way both haven't done jack cashman becuase injuries and bless becuase he just wasn't that good.
I am confident Jefferson will turn out to be above average starter or better for years! Predict he will take Woods starting spot by end of year. I can’t say that about Mims to date. Mims is last WR on our roster, and inactive if all healthy. They both are late 2nd round picks and usually need varying time to adjust to NFL. They are not without risk. Although AJ Brown and Metcalf stepped in and never looked back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Strange set of circumstances. The non COVID illness label on Mims is getting quite old and does not tell the story, yet you don’t status a player ill if the real reason is performance or lack thereof.
I honestly have no idea what to think with Mims. My gut tells me that a rookie OC is more comfortable with certain players that know everything inside and out and isnt really deviating from his scheme. I’m not going to complain much if the offense continues to look like they did against the Titans, because LeFleur actually did things with Wilson and the offense we should have been doing all along. If Mims needs to keep working on mastering the offense in the meantime then fine When you look like you did against the Pats and Broncos and a talented player that has unique traits other guys don’t have isn’t playing, people are going to question if they have a clue what they’re doing at all. It’s just how it goes until you prove yourself as a coaching staff.
As long as we continue to win games/look good on offense I guess it doesn't really matter. With that said, we may as well trade Mims if they have no intention of playing him. Now before anyone complains about how little we will get back for him, know that he is a sunk cost at this point. Considering how well we fared with those defensive rookies we took later in this year's draft, I would be happy to give Saleh another opportunity to find young talent next year.
