He was listed as limited groin yesterday in practice. He had a groin that kept him out of the last preseason game
We are going to lose 2 receivers in the next off-season (Crowder and most likely Cole.) Why would he trade away a guy that hasn't even played a full season?
I don't think we will. Mims is likely just along for the ride most of this year. If he keeps progressing, he'll get more reps and well be good next year. If he doesn't progress the writing is on the wall.
Very interesting! Some posters and media members claimed that Mims would be inactive now that Cole and Crowder are back. As Gomer Pyle used to say,
Spot on. Also, just because someone has a "mental block" doesn't mean that they're not putting in the work. Saleh has complimented Mims several times on how hard he is working, and said that last Friday's practice was his best. This offense is notoriously complex and difficult to learn. I imagine it's even more difficult for someone coming from an offense like Baylor's where Mims didn't even have to polish his route running. What if Davis gets hurt? What if they need more blocking? There are other reasons why Mims should be activated, particularly over Smith.
I would be shocked if it's lack of effort. Saleh has praised how hard Mims has been working, and that (work ethic) was a strength of his coming out of college. I think he may have a learning disability, or is just not the sharpest pencil in the box. It may be that this offense is just too complex for him.
I would hate it if this is true, but at least this would make some sense. He's probably very frustrated, and never been in this position before, and is having a tough time handling it. Then again, if it's Cimini reporting it, all bets are off. He could be totally wrong.
If this is true, I hope some other WR pull Mims aside and coach him through this, and that he will work things out with LaFleur and/or Austin or whomever. He's probably frustrated and insecure since his route running wasn't the greatest anyway. Then again, sometimes coaches pick a player to blame everything on. Sometimes it's because they like the player and want to push him to get better, but other times it's the opposite.
Disappointed to see Berrios dropped tbh 5 from 7 with one of those uncatchable, it isn't much of a reward with all the other stone hands-on show in the last game.
I am not accusing... just pondering... as CD mentions the GRIND and how he has to bootstrap it so to speak... in the end... i dont see that the CS is down on him or punishing him....
Not initially, but once I realized it was, is was just so nice to see someone else agree, I decided to leave it since I went to the trouble to find the meme. LOL
Sure. I won't be on suicide watch if Mims is inactive. I wouldn't have been anyway, but especially after the latest info came out, I won't be upset.
It's not crazy to think Mims will be inactive if Cole and Crowder are available. You've taken a big silly leap in defending the contrary.
