Just to see what everyone else thinks, last year I think we had a rule that the round had to be over before picks in that round would count. I can go either way on this but putting it out there for discussion.

Was just reading he is planning a tour after his new album is released March 31st. Maybe it was an interview after his stroke from 13 years ago.

First round picks are supposed to have an immediate impact, I would fit right in as Jets GM.

Douglas is just trying to outlive John Gavin, Spartacus was crucified in the movie but he wants to outlive all his co-stars in real life.

That's a pretty big gamble to take with your first pick. I almost hope it works out for you.

    Not really.

I thought the opposite, that's why I selected him, you know, average life span is 70-80.

The guy had a stroke as well. He's probably like Benjamin Button, he is starting to go in reverse now.

I get your reasoning. I think I would actually enjoy the death of someone that died at 100 than someone that died at 50. Actually, I don't guess, I know. And I don't enjoy any death. That was a turn of phrase.

It's a weird competition. I won't say why I was drawn to it, only that it's a personal thing.

Yes it is weird, I'm not indifferent to death.
I have seen plenty of death in my line of work, never get used to it, just learn to cope.

Interestingly the one that stands out in my mind all these years was a 2nd year college student that was ejected from a vehicle while sleeping in the back seat, driver was racing his buddy on the parkway while coming back from a Yankees playoff game in 2009.

We heard the accident from our building, we jumped out of bed and got to the scene in about 2 minutes.

I saw her lying on the road and went to her, the look in her eyes as she looked at me, her gaze said it all, I could read her thoughts, she knew she was dying and she was fighting with all her might to stay alive, all I could do was stabilize her head and look back at her while trying to maintain a sense of calm for her sake.

she eventually lost consciousness, ambulance got there and rushed her away, nothing they could do for her.

Even though she was a total stranger, I saw her most vulnerable moment.

To this day I remember all of the details, obviously I omitted some, out of respect for her but that one hit me hard.

Maybe it's because I had a daughter that was close to her age and I was feeling more like a dad at the moment.

Anyways, I'm in it to win it, walk to the light Joe Pesci....

Fire Fighter...now you know why I don't get so caught up in forum arguments and stuff like that.

I like to decompress by coming to this site and having fun, reading some very good and intelligent conversations from other Jets fans and participate in a death pool.
