I can't believe your holding Big Ben responsible for that SB win. The Steelers don't ask him to do anything! He makes a handful of plays a game and they run the ball down the opponents throat the other 90% of the time. And by the way, those passes you applaud Brady for making were all short crossing routes in those superbowls. Don't make it seem like he was throwing 60 yard posts to lead them down the field.
In 1981 they weren't a great running team. In 1984 they ran the ball well. In 1988 they led the NFC in rushing and were second in the league to the Bengals. In 1989 they ran the ball well. Also, the last two times the Chiefs won playoff games, Montana was the quarterback. Bono, Grbac, and Kreig did not win playoff games as Chiefs quarterbacks. Montana was more successful in KC than those other guys. That Grbac was an absolute bum.
I went back and looked it up the 81 team which won the first SB was in the bottom 4 in the league in rushing. You're right about the other two. I forgot they picked up Wyndell Tyler from the Rams in 83. I remeber he used to puke from being nervous on the sidelines. I think he throw up in the huddle during the Rams SB in 79? While Montana won 2 and lost 2 playoff games Deberg also won a playoff game with that team and Grbac and Bono both took that team to 13 & 3 and lost in the second round. The fact is KC had a very good team and Montana didn't take them over the top he took them 1 game further than Kreig, Deberg, Bono and Grbac and put up the same record as they did.
They didn't ask him to do anything when he basically carried the team on his back to the SB? He had a lousy game numbers wise in the SB but was a monster leading up to it and without him Pitt probably doesn't win any of those games. There seems to be a misconception that Pittsburgh is/was very conservative in the passing game because they run the ball alot. Roethlisberger turns the ball over alot for how much he handles it, but he also makes a ton of big plays. His YPA his first 2 seasons has been right up there with Peyton.
So, Chad...you think I can get my ring back now? Just kidding, of course. You keep doing what you're doing. Take down the Colts, an impossibility of a concept to so many when this thread first went up, and you might actually take down the darkside. And in case you haven't noticed, they're fewer and quieter with each passing week. (Shhhhhhhhhhh. Baby's sleeping). PS-Curtis is probably too proud to ask you, so I'll ask for him. Can he have some of your medicine?
Well, they're back again. Darksiders, naysayers, pessimists, and lynchmen. You've had two bad games this season: Jacksonville and yesterday. Your performances can be rated as 6 and 2 in my opinion. 3 great games. 3 average-above average games. And 2 bad games. And they're looking to throw you under the bus already. Oh well. Two weeks of prep time. Two weeks to rest and heal. Next game's already been written off as a loss by most people. Time to shock the world again. A big game on the road against a rival and people won't even recall yesterday. A lot of this doomsday talk has a lot to do with the bye week and the fact that most of us go through withdrawls. Clsoing the first half at .500% is better than most people would've thought. So let the sunshine in. Again. (And remind the darkside that without you, we have absolutely no chance of winning). All it'll take is another above average game from you to see that.
Ohh mate, why would you drag this thread up? Who cares that you showed your support along with thousands of others for Chad. No one is proving their point by saying 'see the jets could do it im right you were wrong'. We all want the Jets to win as much as possible
It has nothing to do with "Proving my Point". I just quoted myself to bump the thread.. It has to do with the thread starter and how people bashed him. Read some of the pots and you'll understand. Some DON'T seem to "want the Jets to win as much as possible".
Actually this thread needed to be bumped for the guy who figured out that Cinderella might be dating the Jets in December...
