Ezra Cleveland is a name that I have seen thrown around as OL help from Minny per Will Parkinson I will be pretty disappointed if we don't make a move for a WR. Lazard has a 19% drop rate which is 2nd worst in the league. Cobb is at 40% but doesn't have enough targets to qualify. We really need help outside. Adams is a pipedream, but Sutton is really intriguing.
Douglas has been active every year he's been here at the deadline either addng or subtracting (mostly subtracting). I'm sure he's doing his due diligence. Renfrow makes sense bc I'm pretty sure he's signed through next year.
What about Joshua Dobbs? The Cards want to play a rookie, but he isn't bad. He has to be a quick study too if he walked into Arizona a week before the season and was the starter. He could come in, start a few games and keep the chains moving. And if Rodgers is serious about coming back by Christmas, Dobbs is a career backup that would easily slide back into that role
You're right about Renfrow, my bad. I was reading it as he's got one year left but in reality he can be cut after one year to save $8 mil. But also do we want him at $13 mil next year? Probably not. There would have to be a new deal and I just can't see Douglas/Saleh putting one of their own guys (Gipson) on the backburner in favor of another guy. That's the stubbornness that I can't stand.
Was it speculated why Minnesota would trade Ezra Cleveland? By my read, he's been a solid starting guard through his first four years. Seems like a guy they'd want to retain for the years ahead. But if he's available for a Day 3 pick, I'm interested. Curious what his contract demands in the offseason would be though. More realistically, I think they'll be looking at street free agents or plucking any promising players off practice squads (a la Xavier Newman). Not inspiring, but I just don't think many teams will want to give away o-linemen. I'm still interested in Hunter Renfrow and would guess he could be had for a Day 3 pick. Not sure why he's fallen off a cliff since his breakout 2021 season, but having Josh McDaniels as your HC is a prime suspect... Extra bonus points if they can flip Carl Lawson or Dalvin Cook for a pick
Some of the teams out of it WILL put their OL on the market (i.e., Arizona) but the price will be high. Do we part with a 2nd Round pick for a 30-something OL who grades Top 10-12 ?
Davante Adams had 1 catch for 11 yards last night and is begging to get traded without actually saying the words. Josh McDaniels is THE prime suspect.
I think he's getting Wally Pipp'ed Cleveland has missed a couple weeks with an injury and the backup has looked really good.
keep in mind the jets 2024 1st and 2nd round pick cant be used because it is held in escrow until the end of the season. Conditional picks aren't determined until then.
Not sure what the reason would be. I just trust Will Parkinson when he speaks or says something. He is 100% sourced within that building and mentioned it multiple times that could be an option for us. Probably because he is a UFA and will sign somewhere else in the FA. Spotrac doesn't have a future pricetag on him so I have no idea what he would cost on the market.
Unless Vegas is stupid then yes it should be but I also have no desire to give up future first round picks for a one-year window.
And this is a good thing honestly. There are no players out there worth a first or second round pick this year. Adams would be worth a second but I’m still not counting him as a realistic target. No way I would give up a first or second for Mike Evans. And the one we would realistically target is worth a day 3 pick so in some ways this saves us from ourselves.
