Ahem. Aaron Smith laughs at you maniacally. *#9 in Sacks within Steelers' brass.* But I see what you are saying - if 3-4 Ends can 1. stuff the run and 2. draw the double team from the OL, they are doing more than anyone can ask of them to. Not getting sacks is not a problem at all if they can keep up with run stuffing and drawing the double teams. (But then, teams won't double team the DE if he cannot get to the QB, so...)
Ahem - he's been playing for 10 years and has 42 sacks. He's averaging about 4 sacks a season. Smith's had 8 sacks in two seasons (2001 and 2004) and he hasn't had over 5.5 in any of his other 8 seasons. I'm laughing at you for trying to say Smith is some sort of sack artist. FAIL.
How was Jovan Haye in Madden 08? I ask, 'cause, umm, I think he would be a good pickup by the Jets. But it all really depends on how he was rated in Madden.
No I read it - you basically said Aaron Smith gets a lot of sacks. He's been playing for the same team for 10 seasons, of course he's going to be up there in sacks.
Anthony Weaver is only 28, but he had a flurry of offseason surgeries as a Texan and his body may be breaking down. Still, Weaver's old coordinator in Baltimore, Rex Ryan, could give him a shot with the Jets. New York wasn't pleased with the production RE Kenyon Coleman provided last season. - Rotoworld --- could be a good fit, and would minimally be as good as coleman for much less
