Yeah, he spelt you're wrong, but he is right. Revis, if he continues to play the way he did last season, is definitely more valuable than Cutler.
I beg to differ. When Revis is making more per year than Cutler, then let me know. Otherwise, Cutler is more valuable by definition. I'm not even going to go into the fact that Cutler is in on at least 500% more plays than Revis in any given game. Revis is a top 5 CB in the game, but he's still just a CB. A franchise QB is on a whole other level.
Your exactly right. Let's hope Bart Scott takes on that role and teaches this team how to win. If you ask me Favre has to take the biggest hit on the team becoming over confident. His play and "rah rah" speech before the Miami game and down the stretch says it all. Let's pray the guys left over from last season remember that feeling of going 1-5 down the stretch.
Revis is only a CB. At best, he shuts down the opposing team's best WR and maybe picks off a few passes here and there. A QB touches the ball on every offensive play. I would much rather have a Top 5 QB than a top 5 CB. But I think Revis is a great player and would like to keep him, but if it was Revis for Cutler straight up, I would have taken it
Well thank goodness that the deal wasnt offered then. Oh and it wasnt top 5 for top 5. Revis is a top 3 consensus as a second year player! so he will be lockdown for a very very long time. Cutler isnt even a consensus top 10 in the league right now. Also I would never have done the deal straight up, I think Revis has the chance to be one of the all time greats, while imo Cutler will be just an above average-great QB for way more money than he deserves. I dont believe he will ever win a super bowl either. In the end, All time great- trumps above average to great every time, even if it is a CB to a QB.
And that's the difference between New England and the Jets. God I hate Bellichick so much out of jealousy.
it's always funny when someone is an idiot like yourself. if there is anything harder to find in the nfl than a franchise qb, it's a shutdown corner
I'll take the option where we keep our shutdown cb and get our franchise qb anyways, only this qb will be one who has charisma and intangibles and who isn't a crybaby prima donna like cutler. oh wait..........
Wow, I didn't know they taught monkeys to type...was it hard to learn? When's the last time a cornerback was traded for 5 players? When's the last time a cornerback put the team on his back on their way to Super Bowl victory? Cornerbacks are only the 5th highest paid position. Guess which is 1st.
If you guys remember there was that trade that sent Clinton Portis to Washington and Champ Bailey going to Denver ...
Revis had 58 tackles, 16 passes defended, 1 sack, 5 interceptions, and one TD. That is a little more than you are letting on here. Not only that, when they don't throw his way, it is for a reason. Don't underestimate his value to the D.
