I think he was spot on. They treated the Pats game as the SB, and expended that type of emotion into that game. I kind of thought they might just have a letdown.

Moving forward, I think this problem won't happen again. They beat the Pats in a big game, so now that shouldn't be their be all, end all motivation. Now the eye should be on the big prize only, and they should look at the Pats as just another team in the way to get there, rather than beaing the Pats as a goal!

I think with the Wilson INT he takes it to the house too. That's what was so bad about it. He was alone and the ball whacked him in the face. The very next play was the roughing the punter and even though that didn't result in any points for the Steelers it ate time and field position. Even if he doesn't go all the way and just gets 5 yards we have the ball at the Pitt 35 yard line.

Seems that Jimmy Leonhard was a LOT more important to this defense than we may have thought. Seems like without Jenks, he's the leader, and since he went down there is no real leader on the D. ......and that IS what it looked like in the first half of that game....

...to me a "letdown" from the Pats game is a bullshit excuse for losing an AFCCG that you should have won fairly easily. I'd be fucking ashamed to admit it in private let alone in an interview.

That was a very difficult play for him to make. He was focusing on his man in man coverage and just got his head up in time for the ball to be about a foot from his facemask traveling very quickly. People act like it was a gimme INT.

no, questioning why someone would admit the obvious, as if there are some negative consequences to doing so, is coming off not smart.

while I admire Revis being candid, he should have done something about it.......one thing about him I guess, is that he doesn't seem to embrace that leadership role.

also, hard as this is to admit, but I think the concerns about lack of trash talk, chatter etc by Rex in the run up to the game were valid. I obviously laughed at the media for being like "Why are the jets so quiet", and I agreed with Rex just approaching this honestly and not manufacturing hate so to speak...........but I do feel like the about face kind of took away that edge they had.

I knew watching them coming out of the tunnel they weren't amped.

Whats a CB supposed to do when the defense is getting gouged for big yards on the ground? Start yelling at the LBs and DLs to make tackles?

Perfectly stated. Our "superbowl" next year really needs to be the actual superbowl. No more moral victories.

Sanchez shoulda wiped his booger on Revis.

Maybe that would of riled him up.

That would be a good start. Grab Bart Scott and Pouha by there facemasks and tell them they better stop making pussy attempts at tackling and taking people down or the season is over. A little cowher shower to go along with it would be helpful too.

This team was beaten in the AFC championship game last year - that was supposed to be all the motivation they needed this time. All that talk about watching that blue-and-white confetti raining down... and then they come out and play that half of football.

Having just beaten the Pats is no excuse for coming out flat. No excuse at all.

It would definitely be better than not saying anything at all. Players should respond to the best defensive player on the team calling them out. Pouha is much better than what he showed on Sunday, as is the rest of the defense.

dude, it's a stupid for him to notice and not confront his teammates about this. Bottom line. he questioned the leadership....he's one of the freaking leaders!

I'm not turning this into a Revis bashing thing, because i love the guy as a player.............but Chrsit, YES, if he screamed in someone's face maybe that would have woken the guys up for the game.and maybe they'be be getting ready for the Super Bowl right now.

I can never understand a team coming out flat in a playoff game, let alone an AFCC game.

seems a little simplistic to me. Like calling the plays: "take this ball and run straight for a touchdown."

I don't think pointing it out now helps. I don't think it was soon enough waiting until halftime. Someone getting in your face can get you jump started sometimes. They only missed one tackle after halftime after the leaders talked, so do you think that helped?

I think after halftime our offense got going and took the pressure off the D.
