This is what a lot of younger fans don't understand, us old pricks have seen this whole show too many times. We are called Darksiders, Doom and Gloom peddlers, losers, and many other nasty names when the Jets are on there LITTLE rolls. When some of these youngsters have had there hearts rip out as much as us, they will begin to understand. Some of us may be long gone by then and then they will be the "Darksiders" Forty years is a hell of a long time to wait, most of us would be happy to have a team that at the very least would be in the hunt right to the end. A team that year after year would beat the team we should and give a good fight to the teams who might be a little better them us. An what many of you fail to realize is more then anyone we as a group want to see this team get it right. We want to be proven wrong, we want to be the ones who you are able to say to, " We told you so" !. Yet, year after year, we always seemed to be proven right and for what ever reason this team continues to break it fans hearts... Yet us "Darksiders will be back next season with renewed hope and dreams that finally God will hear our prays and give us that small gift we have all been asking for since we were teenagers, young men, middle aged men, older gentlmen, and now senior's ......
I guess this is all you have. I think you are actually happier when you are right than when you are wrong. I pity you.
I pity that guy (second time i cant remember his name) who made a ton of threads calling us out. Saying we were giving up too fast. Who was right?
I remember getting blasted for saying on deep sideline passes Brett looks like Brett Magoo. Now it seems everyone is saying it. On WFAN Benigno said not one of BF's long passes has worked all season. Gimme a break, not one?
I bow to you sir, you said that so much better than I could. Darksiders, we may be, but it's still unto death do we part.
What a gay thread. The best part is that "darksiders" can just say "but we're fans of the team and this is what we REALLY want" when the team succeeds. All you want to be is "right?" Fine with me. Big fuckin deal. Right about what?
I'll say this now...if favre does come back AND we get Bill Cower and a new D and O coordinator........ I smell superbowl time
12 out of 32 make the playoffs, and I don't need to look throughout history to know that very few 8-3 teams managed to miss the playoffs with such a weak schedule remaining. I'd wager the majority of the 8-3 teams with mostly 4-6 win teams remaining on their schedule not only won their division but had a first round bye. Actually, we very well might be the only team in NFL history to be this inept. But hey, whatever floats your boat I guess. I don't care about this franchise anymore, so it doesn't matter to me what happens to it.
Serphnx, thats easy as hell to say considering neither you nor anyone else will actually look that up. I can easily say we aren't. And even then, what "meaning" is there in either situation? So is the definition of a "Darksider" someone who prefers to be right about the team than actually be a fan of the team? Cause thats...every fan. It's not like I'm fuckin nuts enough about the Jets to be huddled by my TV every Sunday win or lose. But we can actually be good now, and all Jets fans want to do is sabotage it because they think their vague ideas of success are whats best for the long term of this organization. If Jets fans could, they'd hire a new coach after every loss. It's just not how business is done.
Well again, I'm not really going to bother arguing with you, I'm done with the team. I'll just say that Jets fans can't sabotage anything, it is the organization that wins and loses, not the fans. Fans have zero input or control over anything, regardless of what they do. And on business, you get fired for being mediocre or worse. If you've got a hot product and you blow it, you'll get fired. Nobody is going to listen to excuses about staying the course or stability, you'll just be out. In the world of business, profits are the driving factor. In the NFL, it's supposed to be wins, but for Woody it's just profits there too. In any employment, except the possibility of academia, where you inexplicably don't answer to those that pay your salary and not only have control over them, but get "tenure", you are accountable for results to either your stock holders or employer, and if they feel you aren't performing up to potential, you are removed quickly. Whatever, I root for the Giants now. You can say I'm not a fan or anything, that's up to you, but that doesn't change that I'm done with this franchise. I hope. My blood might be green now so it might be impossible, but we'll see.
For Christ's sake man, that is fucking stupid. It's BRETT FAVRE not Brooks Bollinger. I don't even know what SOS means unless you mean save our ship, but if you don't think that its the coaches that put plastic bags over our players' heads during every game to suffocate the talent out of them, then you are watching some alternate reality Jets. I was on the road during the game and haven't dared reading anything about the game besides Petro's recap on the front page and it's pretty obvious to me: the 3 big coaches blow a lot of cock collectively. Maybe he should have pulled his pants down? Mangini and Belichick: 100000 Jets fans: 0
I agree. Woody sucks. What a tight-wad. And why didn't he fire Mangini in the last quarter of the season and bring in Tommy Tuberville when it was so obvious that the Jets were screwed. This season is all on Woody. Why don't you get into horse racing? If the horse you like sucks or breaks a leg, he'll get shot. You won't have to worry about dedication.
haha stop being a Negative Nancy your no better then the pats fans right now! Jumping on the bandwagon of the giants because they are doing well? psh. So what jets always piss us off. Deal with it. Atleast we are not a detroit lions fan. Everyone here says OMG NO MORE PLAYOFFS OMG MANGINI MUST GO OMG but seriously they want the best for the jets. Everyone here does want the jets to make the playoffs but say they don't because they are just mad with them. I am one of them. I will always bitch and moan because I am a jet fan. Just deal with it. My dad has been a Jet fan for 40 years now and he's dealing with it. You just g2 pray and see what happens. You can never give up on your team no matter what happens!
What about Cotchery's catch in the pats game, amazing pass, amazing catch! fuckin destruction!! Go Jets.
Are U prepared to pay for Bill Cowher by purchasing all new NYJ gear when Woody change our colors so he will have the moneyto pay Cowher?
I feel sorry for you jigglin fellows, I never saw the darkside where I once cheered, This forum seems lifeless, I find you darksiders, you so called "realists" to simply be the ones who give up when the first sign of a loss comes, and I understand, your entire life you've been dealing with the "bad Jets". I know someone who, for 40 years had to handle his own "terrible Packers" I know one guy who has been with the Vikings his whole life, and they've never won a superbowl. But he's still hoping, and he's still believing in his team, not trying to point out whats wrong and how terrible it is, even when his team has a chance at the playoffs, and that should be what you guys should be doing. The guy I know who went for the "bad Packers" for 40 years, got his reward for not giving up in 1997 when Favre, Holmgren, and the Packers won the Superbowl. Be a "realist" all you want, but I'll tell you now, there is no upside, because optimists accept the losses, and they understand when it's REALLY over. But you guys sit around when there is still A CHANCE and think about all the terrible things that have happened this season. The jets improved their record drastically, beat huge teams, and still might make the playoffs, so don't be a "realist" because I only see them as people who give up way to easy. Oh and just to stop about 1 half of what the comments will be, I'm not young.
"We can still make the playoffs!" LMAO! jigglebilly telling real Jet fans how to root for their team adds insult to injury. Who asked you for your worthless opinion? I sure didn't.
