he's 24 with 2 years left on his rookie deal and had 8 sacks last year (3rd season in the NFL) he's way better then any OLB we have here, cheap and young and would save us 1 mil on the cap. I'd gladly move teddy to get him. and teddy is much better then bortles and the jags are a win now team. Teddy will have a better o-line and fournette carrying the offense. Seems like a win win for eveyrone. Plus the jags suspended him a week for a fight in practice with a teammate. If mac could pull this off he would be a genius. Fowler starts opposite of jenkins right away and provides a much needed pass rusher. darnold starts at QB
Went don't need any more assholes on this team. Rather see what it would take to get Mack who is a superior player and a solid citizen.
Last season Fowler flashed some of the pass-rushing talent that had teams — including the Jets — drooling while he was at Florida. He racked up 10 sacks in 2017 (including the playoffs) to help the Jaguars reach the AFC Championship Game. We can use a guy like him to help make others on the line better. But don't give up our 1st round pick! Teddy for Fowler sounds reasonable....although I would rather get a 2nd round pick for Teddy, but I think that all hinges on another teams #1 QB getting injured. So if Jacksonville bites at Teddy for Fowler...make the trade.
Na. I take a 24 years of age pass rushing talent and former 3rd overall pick + a 1st round Franchise LT in order to pass protect Sam Darnold's blind side over a 27 year old Khalil Mack without second thought. Fowler + a 1st round Franchise LT + more available cap space over Khalil Mack.
Trade Teddy straight up for Fowler and trade our 1st for Mack. Sit back and enjoy as they shoot in off opposite ends and meet up at the QB on a weekly basis. LOL
only problem with that is Mack, Fowler, and Williams future contracts (all on D-line) would be a hard pill to swallow.
to answer the question on the other page, if you could only have one, Id go with Fowler and keep my number 1 instead of Mack and a number 2. Fowler is 3 years younger and will command a lot less money to extend. And that number 1 may very well be a pretty high pick......maybe even franchise LT high
I'd much prefer to get fowler for teddy over a 2nd round pick. a 2nd round pick may or may not be good but fowler is a proven pass rusher with 2 years left on his rookie deal and only 24. this year he costs less then teddy (teddy will cost an additional 5 mil if we keep him while fowler is 3.8 mil) and we have plenty of cap room to lock fowler down next season. QB isn't a need for us. Darnold is our QB for the next 5 years for better or worse. teddy is gone after this season no matter what. we'll sign a vet back-up cheap next offseason and maybe draft one late in the draft as well for 3rd string. Fowler fills a huge hole for us and we'll still have our 1st and 3rd rounders next year as well as plenty of cap room (roughly 100 mil) to improve the o-line which is our biggest need right now
Ok....you convinced me when you said Fowler has 2 years left on his contract. I thought he was on his last year because Jacksonville didn't pick up his 5th year....that gives the team more wiggle with resigning him, which to me is key to getting him. I didn't want a 1yr rental.
If you make unnecessary douche bag comments like that it must mean you either were bullied by your father or desperately wanted to be one of the cool kids in high school. Smh so lame bro.
thats my understanding-they didnt pick up his option and hes a FA after the year. I dont know if the Jets have the ability to pick up his option at this time
