This is why I was against trading for him, or at least trading a high pick for him, he is not a starter on Jacksonville. He is a situational pass rusher. He has the talent to be more, but its far from a given. They can not resign him so he is going to hit the market this offseason.
He's not even that this season, just a rotational player to spell the starters on long drives. Only a few snaps more than the 4th string behind him. He's always been a liability vs the run so at his best he'd be a situational pass rusher. I wouldn't throw a pic at him, and would be cautious about signing him in free agency. Would definitely have to structure the contract with an out after the first or second year.
If Macc trades any dp's for a rental in a lost season, he should be not only fired, but drawn and quartered.
And Fowler just got traded to the Rams... A whole lot of players at positions of need getting traded today for fair compensation... a whole lot of our front office doing nothing. Extremely disappointing. Edit: for a third and a fifth. Don't love that price, so that makes it a bit easier.
Here goes another pass rusher that a lot of members assumed would be available in free agency. Here's to Chandler Jones being a Jet in the next 9min!
There is no way Fowler got traded. They LOVE him down in Jacksonville and they want to sign him long term this offseason. I read it here. True story.
You think? What's more likely, Suh is signed to a long term deal before FA or Fowler? My money is on Suh being a 1 year rental and Fowler getting a contract.
Mac: Did you hear that Todd? They actually think were going to do things to improve the roster! Todd: .......BAHAHAHA!
A 3rd and a 5th. Big difference. I hate that he got traded, not to us, and could now be off the market but that's a little more than what I'd be willing to pay.
It makes total sense for the Rams. They are already a great team that is stacked. This move makes them even better, more dangerous and can help them win a SB this season and help keep them at the top for the forseeable future if he contributes in any kind of meaningful way. For a team like the Jets with so many holes and needs, especially on offense, it makes little or no sense.
