Fitz is embarrassing himself right now, no one has planned any visits with him, he better take what the Jets offered and be happy.

Snacks is a big boy NT. He was a guy that wouldn't be denied. Good for him. He was an outstanding player for us

Happy for Snacks that he got his big deal. $9M a year was too much for the Jets to pay but we're going to miss him in the middle of the run D. We've been spoiled on 1st and 2nd down with a great run defender preventing teams from going up the gut.

I'm hoping Mac and company saw something in somebody else that made it easier to pass up signing Snacks back during the season. I'm really hoping we don't draft a DT at 20, but it's possible that's where we're headed.

He was underrated by some fans. The thinking by them is that the other guys made it easier for him. Not really. Snacks was taking on two guys, three guys, and still was the 4th leading tackler on the team. He was a beast least year, and his lateral movement was excellent.

The draft board is stacked with Tackles. I can't wait to see the board fry if they take one @20, lol. Hopefully they're high on Deon Simon tho, and maybe pick up another FA guy for the rotation

I'm hoping for a LB....best available, outside or inside if their OLB isn't there

The best thing about Snacks signing with the Giants is that we don't see him until 2019. By then the "getting back at the team that wouldn't pay you" factor will be ancient history. Would have sucked to face him next year.

And who knows if he'll still be with the Giants by then.

great team player and really glad for him that he is getting a payday - would have loved for him to stay a Jet but we just dont have the money to spare at the moment - which seems weird given how much space we did have not so long ago

Yeah he would've totally destroyed the pocket and ruined any chance of us generating a passing game.

I was thinking more along the lines of how the Jets were going to get yards on the ground against him.

Do they still get comp picks with the signing of Forte?

I'll ask Darren McFadden, LeSean McCoy, Latavius Murray, and Ryan Mathews and get back to you. 2019 is a long ways from now, maybe we'll have our own special running back at that time. Best of luck to Snacks though, at least we won't face him twice a year.

Yeah, because Snacks contract will be much bigger than Forte's. If Ryan Fitzpatrick leaves his contract is going to be bigger than Forte's. Right now I think the Jets are sitting pretty in terms of comp picks next year. Snacks contract is basically worth a 3rd all by itself unless the Jets sign a comparable free agent contract with somebody.

The guy worked really hard for us and played hard and was a big part of the run D. I'm glad he got paid in the end. He worked for peanuts for 3 years and then not much more than that last year.

They'll lose one. Prior to his signing, I thought the Jets were probably due to get two 3rd round compensatory picks - one each for Ivory and Snacks. Now that number will be reduce by one.

I hated to lose Snacks, but knew it was inevitable with what Mo was wanting and what Snacks was wanting. Thanks, Snacks. You were a great player for us vs. the run. Wish you could have done more vs the pass. If so, you probably would still be here. You would have been the one tagged instead of Mo. I wish you the best.
