I doubt it. I think Favre's pretty used to it by now. His receivers in GB had a ton of dropped balls, including many by Jennings early last season, and he still made him look like a star.
Favre made many mediocre receivers look like stars. It's not a coincidence that many of his "star" receivers all but disappear after they leave Favre.
But Cotch was a damn good WR before Favre, he'll get the attention he deserves with a great QB though.
your freakin kidding ,earth around the sun?wow you'd think that woulda made the news or something.this is a stupid thread.bitching about a guy who was very limited all t/c and is a working with a new qb.c'mon guys we got bigger concerns this week than this
coles talks about this like theyre dating....honestly he needs to get over it...this is the nfl people get released....the silent treatment was ridiculous and hes acting like a child....get over it and get down to business....if your such best friends hang out in the offseason....end of discussion...just stop moping over this already its making me sick...
Now, the point is that Coles has never liked to leave it all on the practice and the preseason field. This year, every little nick was respected by the CS. They are on a "we're going to win this marathon" kick. That's their primary practice innovation this year. I think it makes a lot of sense to give Coles all the rope he wants, keep him healthy and let him kick ass on Sunday. There were a lot of moving parts the CS took out and tried out on Sunday. Personally, I am thankful that they got the OL moving pretty well. This is the first opening day 100 yard plus rusher we've had since Curtis. These guys on the OL did not look all together, but they certainly got a lot more done than in any game last year. As a first game in 100 degree plus sauna, they all did pretty good. Ya'll boys play nice, now, and be sure to cut back on some of that sugar that's making you so cranky.
Sorry if I misunderstood, but it appeared to me that you were disputing what is actually fact. If not, my apologies. Actually, that wasn't the way Coles was talking about it. What he was saying was that had he opened his mouth, the media would have spun it to mean something totally different than what he said, which is exactly what happens every time he gives the media the time of day. He's not moping at all. Maybe he's a little bummed that his best friend was released, but I would think that would be understandable. He's not letting it affect his play, and he and Favre seem to be getting along very well. The hatred of Coles on this site is absolutely stupid. He's being treated like Keyshawn Johnson, when he's more like Wayne Chrebet.
1) I don't take much from Coles' silence, but I certainly enjoyed it since he always makes the wrong comment and feeds the presstards what they want when he does speak. 2) While I think Coles is an excellent wide receiver, I think Cotchery has already surpassed him in terms of playmaking ability.
I'll be repeating what most of you have already said but I do believe Cotchery is going to the Pro Bowl this year. Maybe a 80+ catch season.
Some of you are a bunch of fukin cry babies... Get a grip. Chad was his boy and refused to talk to the Media and you get all butt hurt like he did something to your mom. The guy was hurt and still played as he always does. He's just making his way back. Get off his ass. You guys Hated Lamont, Abraham, Pennington, Vilma, and still hate players on this team... GTFO Then and go root for the fukin niners or some shit! Unreal.
Amen, I 100% agree  People around here and on other Jets' boards always need a whipping boy. Previously, it was Chad. Now, it's Coles and Nuge.
:beer::beer: Its amazing that Baker was a asshole all year, but is forgiven. Yet a player with 10x his talent is raked over the coals for being true to a friend and not talking to the press. I guess most of us would rather he bitch and moan instead of keep it to him self and amongst his teammates. Some people are never happy.
I looked over all the posts in this thread and I cannot find any saying Coles is bad, or Coles sucks, or that anyone hates him. The worst I can find is that Coles is equivalent to Boldin, or that Coles is now second to Cotchery. The issue seems to boil down to his less than usual performance in game 1 and the question: to what extent was Coles lack of preseason play a function of an injury, and to what extent was it a function of attitude? It is not unreasonable to think that his attitude had something to do with it. That is, others with the same injury might have participated anyway--or found another way to be ready for Game 1. Would Jerry Rice be unprepared? Regardless of where you come down on this issue, I don't see anyone hating Coles or just being picky here. Its a fair topic of inquiry and no one is posting hateful comments about Coles. The more hateful of the responses is actually from those who don't want to hear anything but praise for Coles.
People keep saying that Coles was invisible in the game, but our leading receiver had all of 3 catches in the game, to Coles' single catch. He probably would have had that one down the sideline if the CB didn't have his arm pinned back. Not to mention he was in and out of the lineup due to the coaches probably being cautious regarding his injury in that heat. Everyone is just overreacting...as usual.
