come on now homer, you can't tell me you actually think a camera made the oline suck all training camp and that game!!! gang51 is balls on straight. the fo screwed the pooch with kendall. he wouldn't be a distraction if the fo followed thru with the raise. it certainly wasn't worth dstroying the chemistry of the oline the way it has. only a foolish homer would refuse to turn on the lights to see where he's going!!!!
Losing Faith ... They should have paid him. There was not enough talent here to play those kind of games. We will pay for it all season ... so was it worth the 1 million, probably not. The front office is suffering from "Tom Brady Syndrome" ... they think they can turn any mid-round pick into a starter ... yeaaahhhh, not gonna happen.
No one knows the true extent. But I would venture to say it had more of an impact of defense than offense. Even if they had our offensive signals, it doesn't excuse stuff like D'suck getting beat and causing CP to get injured. The O-line just gets beat one on one, that group is horrid and will be the downfall of the Jets this season. I doubt whether Kendall would make that much of a difference, I mean with that line last year they could not run block for shit. Pass blocking however, was at least decent. Oh well.
Don't take what I'm saying wrong, I think they have the talent, just not prepared. Once they find their "swagger" they'll be ok. Having Kendall would have made that easier though.
Letting Kendall go in the rebuilding process was a brilliant move. Now we have a bunch of young guys on the line that can play together for the next 6 – 8 years…it will pay off in the long run. What – do you guys think maybe we could have gotten to 8 – 8 this year if we kept Kendall instead of 7 – 9 without him?
Try and throw around other catch phrases besides "Homer," as I'm pretty damm far from that. Do you honestly think that the O-Line would have been that much better with Kendall there? What I'm saying is that I'm willing to give the O-line a pass for one game- nothing more. I seriously don't get some of you guys- an aging, undersized guard with a big mouth demands a raise mid-contract and you are just ready to be bent over and let him go to town. Maybe it's that I'm more of a businessman than a homer.
I personally wanna see how Bender plays. To be honest, I like him. He's big, physical and has decent footwork. Let's give it some time before we throw the towel in on them.
Has anybody watched the game again? Clarke actually played very well, he did miss on a couple of stunts, but most of the pressure came from the edge. Brick was horrible and Clement not much better. I'm tired of hearing this Kendal sh*t. The guy was not that good and the FO was not going to give him a raise and set a horrible precedent for the future. This writer is obviously and idot. Not only was Kendall traded not cut, but Clarke did play well.
The Kendall situation has no right or wrong answer, its one of those grey areas. As a business decision trading him was probably the right one. Long term, the FO didnt want to set precident by renegotiating in the middle of his contract because he bitched and moaned. As a football decision, short term, it made the team weaker going into the season. We need O-line depth and quality. Yeah hes not young, not real big, but he is a nasty, cagey PROVEN veteran that would make the team better and that is fact. So whats the correct answer, there is none. My only issue is that the FO played hardball, fine, they did not have a very good backup plan in Bender and Clarke, therein lies the problem.
The problem with the Kendall decision was it was made to demonstrate strength in negotiations. Then caving to a mediocrity like Moore undermined the point. If you choose not to draft a stud lineman on the first day, strengthening Kendall's resolve to holdout and then you choose to trade Kendall, giving Moore some leverage where before he had none and then you cave to Moore's demands where does it end? My guess is the Jets will have a bunch of people unhappy with their contracts hold out at this point in the next few years. It's a guaranteed way to either get those contracts renegotiated favorably or to get traded to somebody who will. What a clusterfuck.
We should have signed on OG this off season knowing we were geting rid of PK. Maybe the JETS brass knew that we weren't going far this year anyway. We're still two years away from "Going for the trophy" ........... we always have to wait and wait and wait.
To you VERY young JETS fans .... switch to another team. Us "long term" fans have been born to suffer. We must have done something very evil in a past life and we are paying for it now. You'll see.
Well I thought maybe 2010 would be the year they would be true contenders for the VLT but now I am rethinking & think 2011 or later maybe more realistic before we may see them play in a SB due to the 2nd & 3rd tier starters we have to upgrade.
How've you been, champ? I was hoping you would think up some new shit to say while you were banned but I guess not. How do you like your Dolphins chances vs Dallas today? Heard it's a hot one down there.
Why are you asking me about Florida weather? What new stuff is there since it is quite obvious that as they say all the chickens are coming home to roost just as I said they would. I was just replying to what another poster posted & telling him he may have to look further ahead then 2010. What do you see wrong with that?
