I'd rather see Marcus and See split time opposite Revis for the rest of the year. Cro return kicks and cover TEs who are mismatches with our depleted safeties and can put position Skrine.
Cro plays and gets burned all game. Marcus plays, only allows 1 long play that I noticed, and had 2 picks. Shouldn't be that difficult to figure out what to do from here on out TB..
None. He's got 3 non-guaranteed years at $8m left and no signing bonus on the way in. So he's a zero impact cut on the cap, which is what he's going to be. If you can't cover fast guys and you can't cover quick guys and you can't tackle you have no position on the field except KR.
Yeah. I've got a bad hip myself. Just had a hospital stay yesterday with a flare up. There's only one way this ends.... replacement.
It was funny hearing the commentators say that Cro was explaining to them the move Hurns (or route) to get open...says he'll be looking for it...gets burned on the EXACT move he was looking for lol. At this point, you know what your getting from Revis...he's a beast. Cromartie is one of the lowest ranked CB's in the league. Marcus Williams has shown cat like instincts AND he's much better on the outside playing a corner. I've seen him play as a safety and I don't really care for his play there...but the kid needs to play on the outside...he's been good for almost 1 full season of games.
If you watch the play closely Revis let him go cause he knew he had help on the back end...while MW was at safety so that shouldn't event count...
The long play Marcus gave up was at safety, where he can't seem cover or tackle. When he's playing CB he's more than solid; certainly way better than Cro.
This. Marcus has been more than solid when playing corner, he's been making plays all season while Cro has been a consistent liability. I think it's time to make a change.
Been saying it for months. It's about time. Pretty sure he leads our team in interceptions on limited time while Cro has none.
Yup, he's got four. He's certainly earned the opportunity to play a bigger role while Cro has played himself into a diminished one. I'm also hopeful that Dee can come back and contribute something on the back end. Williams starting over Cromartie is a move the coaching staff needs to make soon though. I think Cromartie can still play a role in our defense, I've often wondered what he could do in a free safety type role (obviously not as a starting FS because he's a corner and Gilchrist has been good). But I think Cro still has range and ball skills, I just think he's lost a step. Hopefully Bowles realizes that Williams is the superior CB2 at this point and can figure out how to use Cro more effectively.
Did your opinion on Cro vs Williams waver today or do we need 3 or 4 more weeks of him getting outplayed by his backup?
Where are all the folks who laughed at anyone who suggested Cro has completely lost it? I want those people to talk.
Yeah, that 54 yard kick off return really sucked, we need to cut Cro and get Kerley back on those kickoff returns pronto.
