Update: Resigned WR Thomas Mayo. Signed OLB Sean Progar Jackson. Signed DT Lanier Coleman Released - WR Royce Pollard, K Derek Dimke, DT Roosevelt Holiday
Well technically Marcus was claimed off of waivers, but never the less...I REALLY like this pick up, Marcus is a guy with a very high ceiling but very raw. Giants are pretty deep at WR so I can see why they made the cut, but with the Jets WR group he has a chance to stick.
Davis seems to be a religious type judging from his twitter stream, I have a good feeling about this kid. https://twitter.com/MDavis_7
LOL yeah, I know of all the UDFA's he is one of the two or three most intriguing of all the players in the draft that didn't get drafted. He has all the physical tools to have been a 1st round pick, but he's unpolished and in college had technical flaws in his game. But he's got all the talent in the world, fortunately you can teach technique, you can't teach tools. He's an ideal player to take a chance on here.
Uh oh. He might end up trying to catch balls that aren't actually there. Or worse, he might be using a RUGBY football! GASP!
is he a pantheist? muslim? scientologist? mormon? Reformed druid? and which of those will correct his suspect route running, poor blocking and tendency to catch the ball off his body?
It's still unreal to me we never addressed the wr need, holmes may not be the same ever again ,it's becoming a joke
The Jets had a lot of needs this off season and the draft didn't stack right to get a WR. They could have taken a WR in the 3rd instead of Winters but they obviously felt it was important to get the offensive line complete first. I think they made the right call there. They don't seem to want a pricey vet as a stopgap for the year and that looks like a good call too at this point. That kind of left going all-in on a free agent or waiting to see what the leftovers looked like in July. I'm betting we wind up with Braylon Edwards back for his third tour with the Jets. If not they'll find somebody else to bring in cheap.
