A rookie trying to learn a new position looked lost? Imagine that.

I have to agree with NDmick, everyone is remembering K.W. frist few games. The kid did pretty damn well towards the end of the season. I think the light bulb went off and he was able to play the game and not think as much about what to do in the system, those last few games.

I thought Cro did a really good job for us last year, but not worth the #2 it cost for the one year rental. I also don't blame him for trying to get every dime he can out of some owner willing to give it to him. Not one of the people here calling him a dick for doing so, would take less money for the same job.. With our cap situation paying Cro is just not worth the investment for the return...

One last quick note, and that was, Dirty pointing out the improvement in K.W. play that he noticed at the all players workouts a few weeks ago. Quite encouraging if you ask me, and this kid was drafted #1 for a reason he is really a hell of a player. If he starts this year, he will certaily be tested with Revis playing the other side.. My gut tell me this kid steps up this year and surprises everyone...

He can go chase the money. He's not going to get more opportunities after this.

Time for Kyle Wilson to step up.

Fans never seem to understand that WE the fans are the only one's who are loyal to the team.To the players it's a job and whoever pays the most wins.

    Holy overreaction by some!

Cro would be stupid not to test the waters, just from a business POV. Without Cro last year we don't make the playoffs. With all the Revis issues we had he stepped up big time. Cro was definitely top 3 number two CB.

I too have complete faith in K-Dub as well and can't wait to see him in season 2. Basically I don't care either way because in Rex I trust. A upside to this would be Tanny & Co. focusing on Edwards and Holmes to really help Sanchez excel this season.

JoJoseph is getting more than that, he's one of the best corners in the NFL.

I still would trade that No. 2 for Cromartie again even if he leaves, Wilson clearly wasn't ready and having Cro was huge when Revis was slowed. Not sure if we would have made it as far as we did without him, to be honest.

True indeed. Calvin Pace has been a shell of his former self , but can be a force when paired with a decent pass rusher on the opposite side.

Sarcasm or is this really how you feel? If the Jets loss 7 or 8 starters, they wouldn't be better than any defense. Not to compare, but the Fins had the 6th best defense last year and have a plethora of returning starters + young players from last years draft.

So you agree with me that he looked lost?

People dont understand that this is a job for them. I have absolutely no problem with a player who is a FA searching for extra money. Now if he signs with a division rival for .1 million more then we offered ok Id be pissed. However if he makes a substantial amount more, what do you expect?

If you work at a business making $600,000 a year and a competing company offers you the same position at $150,000 more you would take it. No one would scream loyalty or hometown discount or say "we are (insert well known name) he'll work here because he wants to". Its the same thing for NFL players. Cromartie would be dumb to not test the market. Now I wish we could keep him but I doubt it but Im not gonna call him an asshole like everyone else because unlike many in the NFL Cromartie actually NEEDS the money.

    Yeah he's called Rex Ryan

Same with Belichick and the pats.

Let's keep seeing how the defense holds up only for those two defenses to perform pretty well.

Bingo... I just encountered this situation. Now granted I don't deal with that much money but I just interviewed with a rival of the company I work for because they pay better and give me a bit more security. Am I an asshole for looking out for me and my family? I got no issue if the guy walks to make more $$$. It's a business just like with you and me. I'm out for me and me only, my company would lay me off if they knew they could find somebody cheaper to do the same job as me but they can't (at least not yet) I could care less about loyalty because just like when Cro gets old and can no longer play at an elite level the Jets would be looking at somebody cheaper and younger to replace him. Nobody screams about loyalty then.

We are pretty f'd if he leaves and we try to go with Kyle Wilson as number two. Rather see Drew Colmen of all people over an offseasonless Kyle Wilson in there.

OMG Kyle Wilson missed 4 days of OTAs!!!!!! He's gunna be a bust!

He worked with Revis during his time off. He had a good end of the season no one seems to remember. TC will be saved in a matter of days.

But the consumers of your old company will hate you for leaving! And they'll curse your name while they continue to buy that product and root for the guy who took your place.

Think of all of those consumers you don't know personally! Stop thinking about your family and your market value and please them!

There is no way, we start off 0-2 without Cro at the very least.

This is assuming Wilson or a mediocre free agent has to play opposite Revis. I don't recall any comparable CB's being available last year.

Kyle Wilson on moss and drew Coleman on welker. That would have been fun to watch.

I love how Cromartie goes from "What do you mean he's overrated?" to "Don't let the door hit you on your way out." People would like Cromartie more if he just shut the hell up.

He's a good player. We would definitely miss him. But he is replaceable. Hopefully, Wilson can step up, but we can't rely on that.

    You totally missed the point

We aren't upset that he isnt giving us a hometown discount we are upset that he said there is 0 chance he signs with us in the 3 day period. Even if you arent going to, why would you say that when your current team has helped you so much

Ah, come on. They adjusted his salary to give him more money up front, it's not like Rex and Tanny are taking turns breast-feeding his tots.

It's business. The Jets didn't advance Cro $500,000 because they love Antonio; they did it to maximize the quality of their investment.

Exactly, the trade does no good if a judge issues a warrant for his arrest due to lack of child support payments. It's not like they wouldn't know where to find him (fucking their daughters of course) It's not like the Jets gave him extra money, they advanced his salary. Much like if I go to The Money Store to get a cash advance, I guess the difference is the Jets wouldn't come looking for Cro with baseball pats if he didn't produce much like the goons at the Money Store would for me if I didn't pay them back.
