Your ASSUMING we win ten games and I'd love that, but its not set in stone. We have a tough schedule this year and could just as easily win 5 games as we could ten if one of our QB's does not step up. I think the defense could carry us to around 8-8 though. Picking in the middle of the first round we should have a shot at one of the top few receivers in next years draft and the one we could take will not be demanding more than 23 mill guaranteed even though he fell to the 10th pick, did not work out at the combine, and is comming off surgery. Crabtree is not Calvin Johnson. He's not going to thrive no matter what because of his talent. He's a good receiving prospect, not a great one. Lastly, pointing to anything by Cimini for back up in an argument is shaky ground at best. Yes he says no one is steeping up, but its Cimini. The guy has proven to be a hack over and over. If the Jets really wanted to fix the #2 wideout they could have easily signed one of the several vets floating around and not give up a frist for a over rated talent like Crabtree.
#2 wideout is a big question mark as we speak bro. a bunch of nobodys. quite frankly im more concerned with our supposed #1 WR i like cotchery but is he capable of #1 wr performance and stats? put away the personal attacks and talk football. crabtree would help us in some way shape or form.
I wouldn't put Crabtree above Stuckey or Clowney because they all haven't proven anything in the NFL yet. Maybe someday, but not yet. He'd just be another unproven receiver out there. Got plenty of those. To me the only difference is that Stuckey and Clowney don't have strings attached.
we could have had moss or owens for next to nothing. im guessing crabtree could be had also. i suggested the 2010 1st round pick maybe another deal could be made depending on his performance on the field. hell we did it for favre why not for a wr that we seem to desperatly need dudes.
At this point its obvious your jsut trolling again. You did not counter any of the points made in my post, jsut ramble on and on about the need for a receiver. I guess once a troll always a troll.
What PROOF do you have that Crabtree is any better than what we already have? If we could make the deal you suggested for a PROVEN WR, then I understand. That is too much to give up for an unproven, overpaid, primadonna. Especially with the way top draft picks are getting paid top tier veteran $$ without proving anything in the NFL yet. You could spend similar money and get a Boldin-like receiver who is PROVEN to be good. You assume Crabtree is going to walk in the door, guns a blazin', but frankly he is quite unlikely to produce much this year for SF even if they sign him.
Or JJ Stokes 2. If you think the 49ers would take anything less than a sure thing at something before or around the 10th pick in next years draft, you would be foolish.
what points did you make that are worth a reply dude? name that older vet that could step in and be an instant #2 for us, this should be good. there really isnt a whole helluva alot out there. besides washed up old men. thats right only a troll like myself would be arguing the fact that we need some decent wrs on this team. a guy like yourself who knows dick about football has all the answers and then some.
Sure I'll number the points for you. 1) Older Vets? We've passed on several. We made No play for Owens, Holt, Or Harrison. Nor have we been heavly involved in trade talks for Boldin or Edwards. We have shown some intrest but not talked contract with Matt Jones. There were many chances to add a receiver this summer that were not taken. We could have had Boldin for the Draft pick and Money your talking about handing out for Crabtree. If you want to fix the issure go with that. Rookie WR's tend to make little impact. 2) The Money. Crabtree reportedly wants more than the 23 Mill guaranteed to DHB. Within 5 million of what Sanchez is getting drafted in the top 5 and as a QB, the only position that bucks the unwritten Slotting rules for the NFL draft. If your tying that coin up on a receiver, he better have an amazing skill set like Johnson, who is 6'5 230, has hands like glue, and runs in the 4.35 range. Not a guy like Crabtree, who has had drop issues and is slower and shorter than Johnson. That or hit up a proven probowl type like Boldin. Not invest that in an unproven prima donna rookie. 3) Using a Cimini article as "fact". Cimini is a joke. Your looking to his report that we need Crabtree. Yes we look thin at wideout, but we have great potential in Stucky. We are in the same boat we were before Cotchery stepped up into the #2 role. We have youngsters that may or may not be able to offer more. If Stucky or Clowney pans out as a #2, the issue is fixed with out the investemnt of a high draft pick and huge chuncks of money that will be needed to tie up our young, soon to be FA linemen. Thats a much higher pressing need than wideout to me. As for the troll like your self? Well, you've been banned for trolling. You did not counter any thing that I sid in the previous posts. You not debating. You respond that I don't know dick about football, because you are unable to form a mature and intellignet argument. Your a classic troll, pretending to like a team to cause trouble. Does that make it more easy to follw for you?
In a nutshell, yes we are thin at WR, but Crabtree wouldn't change that. Boldin would, and for about the same price. Not to mention, there is NO WAY UNDER THE SUN that this would ever be mentioned in the Jets F.O. They would laugh at it. If they are reading this, they are laughing now.
i will agree boldin or edwards are better options at this point and time. crabtree could be a good one in the right situation. you have your opinions and i have mine. as far as the banning i recieved for trolling. give me a break it was totally unfair and unjustified. you know it i know it and the person who banned me knows it. we passed on many wrs over the course of the last 3 years old and young. we lost lc our top reciever and replaced him with no one. cotchery im hoping steps into the lc role but the others are big question marks? im not here to cause trouble. theres enough others here for that. and they seem to fly above the radar when it comes to rules here.enjoy your day bro.
How exactly has LC been our "top" guy the past couple of seasons? Statisticly he has been only equal to Cotchery and missed games due to injury. I would say Cotch has been more of a #1b if not the top guy. Its not as if thye really stood out from each other. So you agree that the Jets passed on all viable vet receivers, after asking who they passed on. Interesting. Your doing a hell of a job backpeddeling quickly. So we passed on proven vets, some of whom are probowl caliber that would cost similar money and picks to aquire as a guy like Crabtree yet still think thats the way to go?
the jets passed on may good wrs owens and moss for starters. crabtree could be as good or better than both them. who knows? lc has been the jets leading wr for years. im not back peddling at all. im trying to reason with an idiot who thinks he knows it all and can predict the future of players (crabtree)who havent even played a down in the nfl.
Again, if the jets did not want to part with a first for proven talent like Bolden or Edwards, why would they do so far a guy who wants similar money at a similar cost in picks? You skirt that question every time. Our Top two receivers in 2008 and 2007 Rec yrds TD 70 850 7 71 858 5 Rec yrds TD 82 1130 2 91 1098 6 A huge clear cut difference there right? I mean you should easily be able to tell who was the #1 guy from those numbers correct? Perhaps not, which is why its easy to say LC has not been our clear cut best receiver in at least 2 years. He's old and beat up. Lost a step and is oftern a distraction to the team. Its a good thing he moved on despite where it put us.
shut up, dude. You have no business telling people they "know dick about football." That isn't even *^#ing English and it's a moronic thing to say.
