coles chrebet and moss in the slot would have been devestating for the next 3 years till moss & chrebet contracts would have been up.Coles & Chad had such chemistry from being rookies & backups together since 2000. we would not have signed matthew hatchette and traded a 2nd for mccareins
couldn't agree more, what a dynamic recieving core that would have been...moss never really developed that same chemistry with Pennington that he had with coles, even when coles came back they were on the same page...as far as matthew Hatchette i def could of done without, but i won't lie when we got mccareins for a 2nd i was excited he looked great down in tenn i thought for sure he was gonna shine in NY obviously i was wrong...
Hatchette was a low cost, low risk signing. he wasn't brought here to start and had no affect on any of the other players signing. Chrebet's signing is what broke up that group, that money should have gone to Coles(w/ more) but we re-signed the fan favorite rather than save that money to put towards Coles.
but if we had thrown that little bit more to coles we would have never needed to sign hatchette face. and yes junc you are correct,if we didnt resign chrebet till after the season we could have used the $$$ properly.
Hatchette had nothing to do with it. he was making Clowney money-good for regular folks but not good for NFL players.
You are correct, if Coles doesn't leave we don't get Conway. I don't think Conway was bad, he just wasn't anywhere near as good as Coles which was what some people were unreasonably expecting.
