A day that will live in infamy.

    Forgot all about him.

I'm pretty sure we dropped to 0-7 that day. Forgot he was #7 for us, I always think of him as #14 but we had Neil O'Donnell on that team.

    Opening Day 1994, 23-3 Jets.

Vintage. Before we started hanging up the green drapes for "home" games.

The sad thing about the Vinny game other than Vinny going down was if we kept our punter at QB we would have won and we only missed the postseason by 1 game.

Chuck Clements ws supposed to be a late rd steal, he was out of the league after 1997- parcells really has a great eye for the draft:smile:

We did drop to 0-7 at Jax, I believe Nick Lowery set a record that day. As usual we blew a lead as we were up 14-3 and lost 21-17.

The '94 opener was great, the Bills had owned us(our only win since '87 was the Dennis Byrd game in '92) for so long and we whipped them that day.

Yup. A division/conference win would have done the trick and we were hot at the end of the year.

I was trying to remember what year he was around. If he was done by 1997 why is he wearing the white helmet? We didn't bring those back until 1998.

Reich QB'd the only win that year, two weeks later. Buffalo was the next week, we went to 0-8, that was the same night as Game 2 Yankees vs Braves. I drove up from Maryland for the Jet game and I remember it on the radio driving back.

Probably the best start to a season to ever get us nowhere. That and 2000, I guess.

You had to do it, junc. Just had to.

The only good #6 ever, then he went to the Dolphins.

    Two words: Shovel Pass.

I might be crazy but I think I remember him running a fake or botched FG for a TD one time. Went to the left.

We drafted Clements in '97 and cut him in '98, he was w/ us in camp but didn't make the team.

I never leave games early but I left that Jet-Bills game early to be home to watch Game 1 of the World Series(It was supposed to be Game 2 but Game 1 got rained out so Game 1 was Sunday instead of Saturday). It was fun watching the intros but the game wasn't alot of fun though the series turned out ok:smile:

In '83 we beat SD at SD in week 1 and finished 7-9, in '87 we started 2-0 so we've had a few good opening day wins mean nothing.

I couldn't post a good pic of Brien.

Lucas helped us w/ Miami too:smile:

The shovel pass was probably the lowest moment even though we'd be 1-15 a year later. I think the shovel pass was rock bottom.

I believe the fake FG was 1989 in the opener vs. NE, he scored a TD but as usual we lost.

Gave the Panthers their first-ever win, a few weeks after we barely beat the Jags at home in Week 3.

I was at that game, that's why I remember it, Jeff Lageman's first game. I think Stanley Morgan had a TD catch against us. Hot day.

How he survived so many years is amazing to me. He missed way more big kicks than he ever made, but somehow kept a kicker job on the same team for 17 years--surviving coach after coach until his back finally gave out.

I agree w/ you about Leahy. I know K's weren't as accurate in those days as they are today but when I watch old games I see miss after miss and that's just on PAT's! he was 100% on PAT's only 6 times in his 18 year career. He missed FIVE in the strike shortened '82 season.

A short but sweet Jets career. Stuck it to Miami in Miami, gotta love that.

Another horrible loss. Ray Mickens killed us in that game with penalties.
