Each draft year tends to be characterized by a deep talent pool in one area or another.

I've heard this year's draft is very deep in talented wide receivers, and very lame in talented free safeties.

With the Jets drafting in the bottom half of each round, one would think that in order to get a talented player we should let the draft come to us.

For example, don't be 'this team'...a team determined to fill a specific position (lets say strong safety) and they pass on the next Megatron in order to draft Eric Smith.

Drafting to the strength of the draft every year will eventually lead to a team loaded with talent.

If this is the year of the receiver, then go get a few great ones. Maybe next year will be the year of the pass rushing OLB'rs.

That isn't letting the draft come to you, it's being a slave to it. We don't need a few great receivers from the draft. We need one.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't consider taking a flyer on a second guy in a later round if we don't need the pick for something else.

Unless there's another WR Floyd that I'm not aware of, I get the feeling Michael Floyd will be long gone, maybe even before #16.

Floyd is being projected as a potential top-10. We'll be lucky if he's around at 16.

Cotchery was great but we got our slot guy in Jeremy Kerley. I have high hopes for that guy, he showed flashes his rookie year.

Wow you were in full troll mode this morning huh. A good WR can make up for QB shortcomings. Calvin Johnson was a monster with back up QBs throwing him the ball whenever Stafford was hurt.

Eh. Lets face it, the Steelers have a better shot at winning than we do right now.

He was offended by the Jets and he decided to move on, I'd love to have him back but when we signed Schilens I think that eliminated him from contention to sign here.
