They asked him to take a cut.... Deal with it..... Guys coming off back surgeries don't walk away from 3 million dollars. Wake up.
They do however get upset about being number 3 on the depth chart and asking him to be paid like a number 3 receiver obviously sparked how he was already feeling.
Hahaha... you know, I've kind of regretted the handle since I started here but it's grown on me. I'll rock it unless he moves to Massachusetts...
He was not making 3 million per. I'm really not sure where you got that number. His salary was 1.8 mil for this season, 2 mil for next. His cap number also included his signing bonus, but he was already paid that money. He won't be losing much money, if any, because of this.
Guys who made $16 million over the previous 3 seasons do walk away from an average of $1.9 million per season if they know they'll receive a close or greater amount AND a chance to start from another team.
Of course he was, the Jets have asked half the team to either take less money or restructure. He's been upset since last year. JennyVrentas Jenny Vrentas Yes. RT @thewinnerscirql @JennyVrentas Didn't Cotchery allude to this earlier today when he said there were lot of things going last year?
Lol you are arguing with the knucklehead that is running around like his head is on fire, not that would be a bad thing.
Played with injuries and put his body on the line. His numbers don't tell the whole story of his worth to the team.
I think what I am seeing here is some posters using cap hit numbers as the actual amount they are getting paid this year instead of figuring for prorated bonuses.
I can see why Cotch was upset and wanted to be released. I'm glad the team granted him his release. I'm bummed out though, he definitely was one of my favorite Jets of all-time. Plus if any of you play Madden, Cotch was a beast in that slot. I'll move him back to the Jets roster when I get Madden 12 lol.
uhhh...the "powers that be" that hired Rich Kotite are not running this team....not even fucking close.
What makes this game more painful than the "Mud Bowl" was that this Buffalo game was the Jets very first appearance in a ANY playoff game since 1969! It was the first playoff game I ever watched them in. It was devastating.
cotch is upset he's no longer the #1 or #2 receiver. can't blame him. he has been nothing but productive in that role.
It would be highly inappropriate if the Pats grabbed his ass, might even be some sort of sexual harassment.
