A #1 WR would help, but I would not over pay for eiother of these two this year. TO is a no go at any price. Talented or not this guy has a habbit of ripping locker rooms apart. Mike and Rex will not put up with that.

Harrison has been hurt and is declining fast. Why over pay for a guy of his age and diminishing skills?

At this momment there is not a good fit as a #1 for the Jets in free agency. Most WR draft picks take a full season or two to reach thier full potential. We have a better chance of Clowney or stucky stepping into a startign role then a 1st rounder this year holding one down.

I'm all for drafting a WR, jsut don't expect one to solve any problems right away.

Did we need to start a new thread about TO when we got a big thread filled with stupidity?

Jets needing #1 receiver and signing washed-up has-beens are not necessarily equal statements.

Obviously, you must have failed at math class.

He destroyed the Eagles in one year, and they had a sick year. Nothing really went wrong for them that year and he still found a way to destroy them. Imagine what would happen if the QB play is just a lil inconsistent

Actually, T.O. DID drop the ball. More often than you'd think.

TO has played in exactly one playoff victory in the last ten years. The Jets have won two playoff games in that same period. Tell me again how signing a 35 year old, locker room cancer ,QB killer, fading receiver helps the Jets (or any team at this point)?

If Dallas wouldn't keep him, that tells you something. Jones would sign Charles Manson if he thought it would help the Cowboys win.

Without looking at any numbers, I would guess he's dropped the ball more than ANYONE who plays the wideout position. Keep him as far away from here as possible. I'd rather have McCareins back.

He isn't that good anymore, he is old and getting older. he whines like a little baby all the time and occassionally he has to go the hospital when he forgets to take his medicine or takes too much of it. No Way In Hell should the Jets even consider spending $ on T.O. - I'd rather get Ray Lewis.

The Jets have 8.8 million left under the cap once you remove 5 million for the rookie pool. They say they want to sign Mangold and Washington before the '10 season starts. That means they have to leave money aside to do that. Where is the money suppossed to come from to sign another big ticket FA?

At this point, I'd take Marvin if hes willing to accept close to a min deal or Holt if he'll take a small deal, but otherwise I feel we're best off building through the draft and getting a guy like Nicks, not just for the long term impact, but the cap impact as well.

Again, they need money to sign rookies and reup some existing contracts. They do not have the money to sign these over the hill recievers.

Marvin Harrison is an OLD #1 WR.......... The JETS are moving forward lets not go here. You know my opinion on an available free agent. 1 year contract optional 2nd year. Instant #1 WR and upgrade.

5180 also has been crying for the Jets to get Shockey for years.

5180 would be correct today. We lack a bigger physical TE who can block and catch. I would tend to agree with him/her on this one. Whats your opinion now that we've heard what others think on the situation.

speaking in the 3rd person now, 5180.

Marvin Harrison is a year older than T.O......not much difference there. FTR, I'd rather have Marvin because he's a "team" player and RARELY drops the ball.

Shockey is a malcontent tool, who is never healthy.
TO is a media whore glamor queen who drops too many passes and ruins teams.

And if you do not know if 5180 is a him or her look in the mirror. Quit playing that it is not you.

Wrong, but close! TO dropped 33 passes, 2nd in the league to Braylan Edwards.

When Dallas released TO the other day, someone close to the organization offered a clue as to why he was released, and it sounds like it's got more to do with psychology than playing ability.

They said that a narcisistic personality like TO only gets worse with age. As he slows down and his playing ability inevitably dimishes, he'll most likely lash out more than he ever did in his younger years.

In other words, the Dallas organization felt the time was right to release this goon before he really goes ballistic, constantly blaming his QB and everyone else around him for his own fuck ups.

If we're to have any chance at all of grooming a franchise QB in some sort of sane environment, bringing in TO at this stage of his diminishing career is suicide.

I wouldn't bring TO in here is he paid US $7 million a year.

Why acquire somebody who cannot get it done anymore? He is just a name.
