He's had three seasons but one was lost because of his utter stupidity. And while his second season was better than his first, that's like saying that John Idzik was better for the Jets than Rich Kotite.
When someone says "clearly" it's usually not so clear. He shit the bed early in the season when our season was still salvageable culminating in that epic zero point zero when he completed more passes to the other team then his own team and got benched. That he complied some stats at the end of the year when the season was shot in order to make his stat line not completely shit is not showing "clear" improvement. I apologize if this hurts someone's feelings here. But it is a valid observation. _
If I recall that was his first perfect game of the yr all the geno fans seem to forget about. But at the end of the yr when the fins quit on their coach he threw another perfect game......Dude is not a starting qb period.

Geno showed us he sucks. That's a quantitative fact with real data. Can he get better? Sure. But at the moment based on his starts and stats, he sucks. Based n the eyeball test, he sucks. So whatever. Maybe he is a late bloomer but that's a wish not a fact you can back up with data.
He loves the attention. I would bet he posted more in this thread then anybody. But everybody else bumps this thread but him.
I don't think anybody disagrees that Geno has look bad his first 2 years. But we can put together a long list of QB's who has sucked there first 2 seasons but turn it around and went on to be good/great QB's.
List them then. Of course, they have to have been as bad as Geno or worse. No picking QBs who were merely kind of bad at first.
Geno was definitely improving. That's a quantitative fact with real data. It's funny, when we drafted Smith, we all here knew he'd be a work in progress. And now people are pissed that he was a work in progress. We all knew he should have sat behind an older vet and learned. He's finally had a year to do that and no one wants to see if he got better as a result?
You don't give a work in progress drafted outside of the 1st round 3 competition free seasons w/o anyone to push him. Also fans are more incline to be more patient with a work in progress QB if said QB had all the great intangibles which I feel are mandatory for the position (i.e., leadership, work ethic, football character…etc.) and/or a unique once in a generation talent. GeNOOO is none of those. He's a petulant, low football IQ, questionable character QB with slightly above physical and athletic ability. He's really not worth a 35 page thread.
