I also don’t see how the NFL doesn’t see this becoming a problem for them? Players are coming out later with shorter NFL shelf lives just because of their age and more wear and tear on their body. Plus a lot of them are rich already so why play even longer in the NFL and end up using a walker? They said Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck both drive Aston Martin’s and Lambo’s. Why not try to get a waiver to stay in school? The NCAA hands them out to everyone but Diego Pavia lol.
Seriously. It wasn't that long ago you had Maurice Clarett suing to be able to leave college and join the NFL. Now you got players suing to STAY in college and avoid the NFL haha
It just seems so easy to fix. No transfers until after bowl season. Limit the amount of times you can transfer within D1 without sitting a season out and going to junior college. Go back to graduate transfers or injury waivers as the only reason for an extra season. This is a shame. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/marshall-opts-out-of-independence-bowl-vs-army-amid-transfer-portal-exodus-per-reports/ Marshall’s coach leaves, 25 players leave and some losing team is going to get their head taken off by Army.
and graduate transfers actually have to graduate first I was sympathetic to the portal but that was before NIL. You can’t have an open portal with paid players. Even in the NFL people aren’t free agents every single year and open to the highest bidder.
It just keeps getting dumber. Kelly is doing this to save his job as much as anything with the sorry ass performances those top notch rosters have been mailing in but still. Coaches donating to fucking NIL? https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...ontributions-with-donation-to-athletics-fund/ Penn State loses a QB to the transfer portal BEFORE the playoff. No shocker here and not that kids fault the rules are retarded. https://fansided.com/james-franklin-puts-transfer-portal-on-blast-losing-backup-qb-ahead-cfp-run The lower tiered CFP teams are at a huge disadvantage too with trying to recruit right now. Not shedding a tear for them but the Arizona State and Boise State’s of the world have to be focusing on winning games while the rest of their conferences are working up contracts for players.
I can’t believe this latest ruling to not count junior college against college eligibility. Thanks to that shithead QB from Vanderbilt it’s just terrible for high school kids. If you are a D1 school who are you going to give a scholarship to? The 17-18 year old high school grad or the 20-21 year old with years experience in junior college? BOTH with 4 years of eligibility!!?
My buddy's son was a BBALL stud here in FL... 18, already 6-10 and moves like a man (Dirk Nowitzki jr) When I talked to him as he was dropping his son off to start school at some small school in TN, I was shocked he wasnt going to a bigger D1 school.... "Yeah, unfortunately these days the big schools are using the smaller ones as farm programs, the way the pros use bigger college programs"
If I didn’t bet on games I wouldn’t have much interest in these bowl games. But I will say they’ve been pretty competitive for the most part and entertaining. 5 overtime’s in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve and 6 between Toledo and Pitt which included 3 straight 2 point conversions by both sides. Toledo’s fourth string QB probably found himself a starting role somewhere with the relief comeback appearance. Good to see the local boys at Rutgers holding their own. Meanwhile like Nagle said the CFP games were all basically over halfway through the second quarter. Deion is helping college football out a ton by having Shedeur and Travis Hunter play Saturday night.
These bowl games have paid for my Christmas!!!! This Arkansas State one especially if they can win it moneyline, I’m going to sizzler. 10 point underdogs, I picked them solely because my ex wife is a bowling green grad
