For a 3rd round? Absolutly make the deal. Kaep is way better then what we're likely to be looking at next season and it'd leave us our #6 & #38 to grab OL and CB.
forget about it…the rams still have not had a winning season since doing that, and they are still not qb stable
trades like this just don't ever happen…theres a better chance of the 49ers and eagles swapping….and still even if the jets made this deal, there still be shorted..kap and foles do not value up to 1-2 rounders….so the price from 20-6 should be higher
http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/03/09/colin-kaepernick-trade-49ers-trent-baalke "The general manager for the 49ers Trent Baalke released a statement early Monday morning refuting media reports that star quarterback Colin Kaepernickwas on the trading block. "Colin is our quarterback and we are excited to have him," Baalke said in his statement." They seem to be denying it quite profusely. I know it's bullshit season so take that for what it's worth. I'd give up a three for him but it would probably kill any Eagles deal (too much pure draft pick compensation without Foles in the mix).
Trade a 2nd for kap, hope the duck falls to us, flip that pick and still end up with 5-6 picks this year. Make it happen mac
just one guy is reporting it - most the analysts don't see to find it to be true. Couple that with Baalke's statement- I think it's a BS report
This sounds like compleeeete bullshit but if it's not I'd give up a second rounder for him. You just don't get a chance to acquire a guy like this especially in a market this thin.
What ever happened to quoting a source? This report sounds like complete BS, the guy just signed a multi year deal last season and the GM is refuting it
Kap would do very well in the offense I expect the Bills to be running. They completely neglected the run this past year in SF. I don't think Kap is all that great, but in the right offense can make it work with success. But the market was set by 2 2nd round picks, the last time they traded a qb. So basically- it would take a 1st + a pick (given they don't have a backup plan)...which is compensation stating someone is committing to him being the franchise (not going to be the Jets)
So you want to give up our #6 pick and our 3rd round pick for Kap and the 20th pick? That seems way too pricey. I'd rather roll the dice with MM for that price.
Shit no. It's almost like people didn't watch him play last year or follow how much of a mess that team was in the locker room. If we are going to use a 2nd, use it on Hundley or Petty
its a moot point b/c I doubt he's actually available but Kaepernick is lightyears better than Hundley or Petty and I like them as prospects. the locker room was a mess there last year like you say but that wasn't because of Kaepernick and might serve to explain why he had a down year, very distracted coaches and players around him.
