Theres an article on ESPN i read 2 days ago. My comp keeps freezing when i go on the site so you can check it out
I always liked Coles because he seems to be a 100% effort guy on the field. That said I have to agree with you. 3 times is the charm for me. I hope it doesn't show up on the field this year?
I've always liked Coles too, Winston. In fact, this year, after appearing on Oprah and "outing" his childhood nightmare involving incest and child abuse by his step-father, I respected Coles so much more for having had the courage to step up and relate that to the entire country on prime time. But come on now. What is this involving criticism of Mangini and the way he runs his camp in his first year as head coach? Shut TF up already, dude. Play the sport (for which you are so richly compensated), make your money and "let live." We have other, up-and-coming, go-to guys waiting in the wings. Be smart and make yourself a name by making catches and winning games. There's no need to pick a fight with a coach who is trying his butt off, who'll make mistakes, who wants to win games as bad as you do and who needs all the support you can give. That's part of being a "team" guy and if you dont get that, then we'll see ya later!
At the end of the day, the Jets were 4-12 (two years after 6-10). Unacceptable. You're either with us or against us. Patients can't run the asylum. Herm proved it.
writers are merely recycling a quote and rephrasing it. hes angry about the circumstances but whatever, he's a real player. i dont care what people say, and he is no malcontent, people are just buying into it because he left the team for more money and came back to a sinking ship. so people think because he liked herm edwards and just said camp was brutal, means he hates the way mangini does things and wont do his best for the team? c'mon this will go to rest as long as we at least show livelihood in our games and show progress in the season. otherwise the media will bring this story backup and attribute it to our losses and the horrible season coles will be having due to the fact pennington might be done playing as a starter.(and i mean this in the situation the passing game is dead again and its just obvious we need to move on)
Best case scenario is this 'incident' brings Mangini and Coles closer. They can both agree and serve the example to the rest of the team what happens when the media gets hold of a quote. It the becomes an 'us against the world' mentality and the Jets ride happily into the sunset together as a team leaving the media with no bone to chew on.
Just to comment on the Lav / herm manlove. If Lav should be pissed at anyone it should be Herm. Herm promised that he would be a Jet forever and then got rid of his ass. Later Herm asked for him back and then left the Jets. Can't trust Herm
If only this could be so. And perhaps it can be. I hope that it happens. I like Coles and wish him the best. But he does need to get off this and concentrate on catching balls. FIRST THINGS FIRST, LAVERNUES! LET'S MAKE PLAYS, DUDE!
Exactly. How much are these fuckers getting paid? Don't think you'd hear a peep out of me if I had this guy's bank account.
Crap - we better make sure he is happy. A 5' 4" receiver with turf toe would be a bitch to replace. The putting Coles on a pedestal goes hand in hand with thinking Chad will play like his first 8 or 9.
at some point he needs to stop whining about his current situation and just play. he used to be one of my favorite players but he is starting to get a little on my nerves. big deal that herm left, etc; that is what happens in the nfl.
He just needs this season to get started and score some TD's. If that happens everything will work itself out. Winning cures all, unless your T.O.. Right now everybody is all pent up, waiting for this thing to get going.
Yeah, and I think he's gotten about $25 million over the past 3-4 years from the jets and redskins--I really feel sorry for Coles.
The funny thing is a friend of mine lives in the same development as Coles and always says how quiet the guy is.....then every time he sees a reporter he can't seem to STFU.
Coles likes the quiet days of camp. He can sit and reflect on molestation, the man, pay, and things like that. If he has to actually work, it takes his mind off all of his favorite things. I like coles, but if he wants to take it easy, he can take the first "bus" to KC.
You guys are acting like he's been saying this over and over for weeks. He isn't. This is simply reporters recycling the same quotes from like two weeks ago. Everyone saying he should "STFU" just don't seem to understand that he has. He made these comments once and the reporters are running with it because they have no other quotes to work with. Come one people, I thought you were all smarter than that.
That is uncalled for! Making light of someone getting molested is almost as disgusting as molesting a kid.
You guys are buying into the media too much....all of these things he's saying are questionable at best in that he doesn't like it around here....the guy is not at all a cancer in the locker room that i know of, and is a warrior on the field and plays hard all the time.....he's not a flashy guy and simply does his job well.....Mangini praised him about a week ago for his outstanding toughness, i'm sure they have spoken about these recent articles.....everything is fine until i hear otherwise from someone actually inside of the orginazation, and not some bs writer reaching for ideas to write an article on
Who the hell is making light of it? I think it's as horrendous as can be, but let's face it, that's what drives the guy...anger.
lol bullshit you tried to be funny and were just distateful. you then said "actual work takes his mind off of his favorite things" so your saying all he cares about is being raped, complaining, and money. and im no saint, in fact i have a sick sense of humor so im not even trying to preach. but if your going to make jokes at least stand by them.
