First off, Coles shared time at #2 and #3 last season. He wasn't the #1. Second, you are exactly right. Smith hasn't done enough to get on the field as a WR so that speaks for itself. Coles will easily beat out Smith, Clowney, or any other of those wanna be WR's on the Jets roster for WR #4 if the Jets sign him.
Yeah I know, I meant over his career, Coles was a #1-#3. Smith at his best on the depth chart was 3 and half probably. I'd be curious to see, if given an equal chance what Smith could do compared to Coles at his age.
What do you mean if given an equal chance? Don't you think Smith has been given plenty of opportunity to show what he can do as an NFL receiver?? Coles had far more production as a WR in his 2nd year as a pro as Smith has combined in 4 years as a pro. Coles has it, these guys don't. Bottom line. If they can beat him out in training camp, they will.
WOW. I'm surprised that he expects to be cut, and still signed. A lot has changed over a year, hasn't it Coles?
thats so typical of a 'new yorker', remembering 'one play', the guy made tons of plays for us, and was a huge difference maker in the 02 season, and in other seasons. I guess you dont remember his great catch in the mnm?
now w/coles back, i'm not to concern about holmes being out the first 4 games. I cant remember the last time our top 4 wr's were this good.
I love this move. Absolutely love it. I know he's not what he was, but he's tougher than steel, and works hard every play. Great job, Mike T.
If that were the case they would have given him one of those 1 day deals and been done with it. He's going to contribute to a tough first 4 weeks.
That's awesome. He understands his role and that he's probably competing with other WRs (Clowney?) for a job after 4 games. Really like this move now.
Oh come on, that ball found its own way into Coles' hands. It's not like he made a great play on the ball or anything. We have whatever defensive back screwed that play up to thank for that one.
