But Leberfeld wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't ask, and Coles needs to understand that. There's more to this then a simple question. These two must have prior bad blood.

Leberfeld is a soft little girlieman. He needs to just go away. He can't help but write these meaningless rants about someone dissing him or avoid his questions. I gave up on JC long ago. This guy obviously gets no respect from anybody in the lockerroom. Good job LC for putting this little troll in his place. Go away already.

Your right about him asking the question but once the answer was that Coles wasnt going to answer him on that subject Leberfelds job is then to either:
    1. ask another question
    2. try to find another way to get the answer he wants
    or
    3. move on to the next player.

By "muttering" loud enough to be heard by Coles and the other reporters, he is starting a war that he may not be able to finish.

Doesnt this go back to the whole argument that most of us was having at the beginning of the season about how reporters now a day dont know how to investigate to get their answers. They really dont report anymore.
If Leberfeld is as good as he thinks he is then he will find a way to get the answer and article that he needs but I think that his next article about Coles will be about what a prick Coles is and how the media is treated unfairly by the Jets.

Why wouldn't he be doing his job? What is his job - to try and get Coles to slip up? That's probably what annoys Coles more than anything - the question was designed to get him to embarrass himself by breaking team rules - why ask it otherwise?

Leberfeld could EASILY get material for articles without asking Coles about his injury. Ask smarter questions, get better material, it's not rocket science. Asking about the injury is lazy journalism, if journalism at all.

You are probably right about there being bad blood already. I can't fault the guy for asking the question, but ask and move on. He doesn't have to be an ass about it. They all know it is a pretty dead end road for information with injuries. Nevertheless, you have to fault both guys in this case.

I thought Leberfeld was a part of the trade with Minnesota. I can't blame him for asking anyway, but he had no reason to bitch about players dictating his work and whatnot.
