its pennys agent...not pennington...im surprised he hasnt fired his agent yet for telling him that he cant accept the paycut!
class act by a guy who has been truly that through his career no surprise only if we could get him a ring
If his role is reduced and the opposition's attention is off him...C-mart could be looking at a "Bettis-esque" end to his career.
Class act....... He knows he may not be the man, but hes willing to compete for the job and Im sure he will be helping whoever is starting. Gotta love this guy. And Bravo to a FO who is not near sighted and unwilling to play anyone but the old veteran. Id also like to give a big F U to Hermmy
what does pennington need to learn from curtis in terms of taking paycuts? chad came back and played for us after his shoulder fell off twice, he risked his 64 million dollar contract and serious injury (other than just career ending injury) to play for this team to try to win a superbowl for us. he tried to give away 5 million dollars to get laveranues coles here. he worked his ass off for his contract, as did curtis, so i dont see why its a law that says that chad has to take the pay cut. one of the differences between chad and curtis' contract is that curtis' is much more of a pallatable cap hit if we would have been to cut him. the point is, both worked hard, both laid it out on the line while injured for this team, so to say that chad needs to learn from curtis on how to be a team player is ridiculous.
Here, Here! Please frame the last sentence and preserve it on the board until we win the next Superbowl! LOVE IT!
Kinda gives some insight into just how bad off our RB situation really is. If a RB 10 years younger can't beat out a old warhorse for a starting spot, our ground game can be described as: Pathetic at best. Actually, I'm glad CMart took the cut. You got to figure he's invested his millions wisely and really can afford to do so. Just like Chadwick Pennington. He of the $22mil in the bank (hopefully for his sake..) Still, painful cuts remain on the horizon. Lets hope the new FO/HC can get on the same page and dump salary & age over the next 2 years.
The man had 700 and something yards this season with a knee injury that was killing him. That's balls, and he is definitly not just on the depth chart out of sheer respect.
I'm happy with houston/curtis for next year, providing we get a QB. We need to address either RB or QB this year, it is quite a risk to try and wait to solidify one of those positions in the future.
