    What a bunch of wankers!
I really hate this shit , OK lets move on to the next unproven player.
The way some of you are going on about Harris hes the second coming , way to go. Heap loads of praise and pressure on a rookie still learning his trade and when he fails , be sure to boo him and make sure he knows how much hes worth in a trade. Add Clemens to that as well.
Let players prove their worth , not in bit part plays but over the course of at least a season.
Harris is no relacement for Vilma ,(remember him?).

do not xpect much from clemens guys......15 of 33, 2td's 2ints fumble etc etc - that will be the stat line for the rest of the season.....

he is going against very tough defenses and i personally won't be looking for huge improvements until the 2nd half of NEXT year.

however, there will be those suttle things that will give you the clues to the upside this guy has.....

trust me folks - this guy is the real deal.

Maybe you haven't been paying much attention, but Vilma is as good as gone and probably would have been traded this past offseason if Schlegel hadn't been such a disappointment to the CS. Vilma was great in the 4-3 alignment but if you're waiting for Mangini to go back to the 4-3 then you're fooling yourself. If there is anything that this guy is convinced about it's that he has to establish the 3-4 base with a core group and he's doing it the long and painful way. Vilma isn't going to be a Jet next season.

Sunday is going to be fun. It will almost be like opening day. Kevin Klemins at QB and David Harris are going to make the game fun to watch. Like I said before I had more fun watching two ants fuck on the bar counter than watching Chad checkdown all game long.

We have to have something to look forward to for the rest of the season. I am looking forward to seeing Kellen and Co. improving.

That's the feeling I get whenever I see him wind up and throw a pass, but I am not going to let emotions get me head of myself. There are plenty of things that can go wrong with Clemens and this is still the New York Jets.

Naw, they need to lose Robertson as bad as Pennington. Both of these guys have been paid a ton so don't feel for them. Drob is too short and slow to keep, even at any price.

Unfortunatley I have been paying attention , more than needs be.

What is getting under my skin is this hysteria about reletively unknown playing abilities being portrayed as pro bowl locks.

Harris has looked OK when played , but I still haven't seen anything from him that suggests he is the future at MLB. But their seems to be a sream of thought here making out that hes Ray Lewis!

Re; Vilma , a crystal ball isn't needed here is it?

Mangini on his bike and we go back to 4-3 , we want Vilma to stay.
We have the nucleus of a good young team and such is the alarming step backwards ,I ask myself , whos worth more to the team , a young (possibly good) coach or good players that don't fit into his scheme?
In my opinion Mangini had about a 3-4 year plan , this now looks to be now about a 6-7 year plan , if hes here that long. Will Woody still be patient this time next year on 1-7?

Harris has played better than Vilma all season when given the opportunity IMO. He also had a monster game last week. I agree with you it's too early to go crazy, but I can understand the excitement, especially when there hasn't been much to be excited about. I'm certainly excited by his play so far.

We need players at both OL and DL. Pennington, Vilma and Robertson are good players who just don't fit our system. I hope we trade these guys for good value. A good free agency and draft could change the look of the team. Our goal this year should be trade down for more picks if the right player is not available. We also need a WR with speed. Coles is getting old. :jets:

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to work on these LINES instead of worrying about the QB position. Let's get a frikkin DEFENSE first!

It's the same stream of thought that had people thinking that Vilma was the next Ray Lewis. We're having a shitty season so people look where they can for hope. And by the way, I am very enthusiastic about Harris, I think he is an impressive physical specimen with excellent football instincts and he's probably some of what we need for the interior of this defense.

I can't say I completely disagree with your argument, but I am going with the mindset that we're overhauling the defense whether or not the personnel fits the alignment. That's been my thinking since the beginning when he was hired and it's probably why I'm not outraged about the alignment. I was upset when they didn't take advantage of Vilma's trade value this past offseason and still am, although I understand what he brings to the team in terms of leadership and game study. It's business. Not necessarily good business, but business all the same.

This sure is the way it looks right now. It also seems to lend credence to the idea that Mangini will survive this storm and be back as the coach of the Jets again next season.

Tanni's money seems to be on Mangini right now. Perhaps he thinks his career with the Jets depends on Mangini's preformance as well. I hope he's correct because Vilma is a baller in the 4-3 and it would be a shame to see a new coach come in the following season and re-institute it.
