An entire new offensive line? Are you one of those people who truly believes D'Brick and Mangold are busts? Cuz they're not.
Favre doesn't really go backwards as much as you think. He looks down and throws his shoulders forward when he throws, along with this little hop-step, which can give the impression of him moving backwards. It's not like he throws off his back foot, that's his intended motion. You throw a bullet, it will drop like a rock but you give a hop-step at the end of your throwing motion to give it a vertical aspect and voila straight bullet pass at a decent height. And that was one hell of a throw. Streak down the left side. YES. Take that, Shanahan, you conservative bastid. That's what he deserves for refusing to run the ball when the Packers dropped back into coverage at the end of the game. Cutler? You give the ball to fricking Cutler?
I think Clemens already proved he is in the same league as Favre. For us to even bring Elway into this discussion is an insult to Kellen. Sunday brings a vertical threat that will help out the Offensive Line. Deep routes and the sideline will now have to be accounted for at all times. The box won't be stacked and we'll see a real Thomas Jones with Coles, Cotch, Smith, and Baker doing what is intended...not getting killed in the open field and catching the ball on a seam, not a rainbow. I just hope this week is enough time to adjust to the ball coming on a rope for the receivers.
I was thinking the same thing. We don't need an entirely new OL. Just a RG, LG, RT, and 2 more decent players for depth...ugh...
Just out of curiousity, how exactly did KC do that? And how is Elway in a league beyond Favre. Last I checked, Favre's holding quite a sizable number of league records, and he's not even done yet.
Yeah but Favre is holding those records because he's not done yet. He's like The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith. He should've stuck by his farewell tour of 10 years ago.
Yeah, that's true. I mean, it's not like his team only lost once so far this year, and look like playoff favorites or anything.
Oh they'll make the playoffs. Just shows how bad the competition is. Heck, Pennington would probably have the same record on that team. (Of course he'd have done it with a short passing game since he can't throw over 10 yards.)
Give us some credit, now. We all know Clemens is in the same league as Favre. And so is Brooks Bollinger. Didn't Favre get the touchdown record in one more game than the previous holder, and only because he didn't really go for the record and ran in for a sure touchdown the game before?
