The FB is a position that is going extinct. There are half dozen teams going into 2015 that don't have a FB listed on the depth chart. Teams are starting to look for more versatile bigger players to play the role of blocker and receiver. 6 feet and 245 isn't what they want for that role, they want 6 foot 3+ and 255. That's an H-back not a FB. They want a TE capable player in the backfield not a stocky RB.

I'm not sure Bohannon is even serviceable. He's not that good a blocker or runner. He's basically only on the team because Idzik had some connection with Wake Forest. Bowles and Maccagnan owe him nothing. He can catch the ball fairly well, but is that really worth keeping in a spread offense? That's why they have Amaro at H-Back. If they keep Bohannon, imo, it will only be because they don't have a RB that's a great receiver. Powell is the best, but he isn't setting the world on fire. If they look at it from a pure blocking perspective, Copeland may have a chance to unseat Bohannon. I'd certainly rather keep a better player at another position, than keep Bohannon just to keep a FB.

Gailey said in his press conference there is no FB position in his offense. Bohannan could make the team for specials or in the HB role but there is no FB.

We will keep 6 or 7 receivers and probably 3 running backs. Cimini apparently thinks we are still running a Rex offense.

I mean we are running a spread offense, and none of the core receivers can do KR duties and Kerley is dependable but pretty lousy at PR so that needs to be upgraded too. We need more hidden yardage in returns and especially turnovers.

IK was one of the players I've been interested in seeing more of, this better not happen.

I still think a FB can be useful if he's a good blocker and can catch

Definitely if he comes on the cheap. I just think his play is only going downhill at this point in his career. Better to replace him year too early than a year too late but what do I know.

Thanks. That makes sense, and I agree. I just think he still could have some value mentoring Dozier, Aboushi, Qvale and Harrison, and maybe even Carpenter, and filling in for a game or two if need be and playing at a pretty high level if he cuts down on the penalties.

Well compared to my 53 man roster posted a while back there are only a couple differences.

I kept LBs Mays and Barnes.

He kept CB Walls and LB Henderson.

We both cut Ikemefuna Enemkpali and Dalton Freeman who you all disagreed with me on. Plus, he went with me on the exact same five WR and five RB/FB. I know you guys don't like Cimini, but can you give me a little props now.

Is it really a good thing to be associated with Cimini in a positive way?

Amen. Being in agreement with Cimini is nothing to be proud of. It's the kiss of death. The true test will be the decisions that Mac and Bowles make, not what some media hack predicts.

Kudos to Cimini...though why didn't he predict it would be for sucker punching the starting QB?

Maybe Cimini knew about the developing Enemkpali-Geno feud all along lol.
