Hey, it wasn't me that made that phone call! Besides, if "asshole" was on that recording you heard, that's not Spanish, that's English! Maybe that's your Sig, but who am I to tell you how to sign a post.
This isn't another Kendall situation since the Jets have 2 viable options in Keller and Franks. They had no one to replace Kendall, Coles is invaluable at this point and time. Baker got his money up front from last year- he gets no sympathy from the fans.
Given five seconds I'd say he has just enough time to read through the note and crap himself, leaving two messes the for the janitor to clean up.
Are all of you crazy! Chris Baker is BY FAR the best TE on the team and a potential Pro Bowler. He is the rare TE that can block and is a threat as a receiver as well. There is a very good chance that Tannenbaum is involved in some bad business by giving Baker a strong sense that he would be seeing more money and then playing the "I dont think I inferred that" card. I think the offense will be at a real disadvantage without Baker this season. I dont know what the answer is but the FO better fix this quick and get Baker in camp. Keller and Franks are not the answer.
Muahahahahaahahahaha  hahahahahaha:rofl: ahahahahaha:rofl: Ahem... sorry... I couldn't get any further into your posts. My sides started to hurt too much.
why do you think the Offense will be at a real disadvantage? what has he done, what has he produced that leads you to believe this?
I don't get why everybody is making this out to be such a big deal? I especially don't get why people want to just cut him. We already advanced Baker $1 million from this year's base salary, last year. His 2008 numbers are negligible. I say keep him, play him as part of our TE rotation, make him play special teams. Run him with the second and third team. Do the same next year when his contract is a 'mere' $1 million. He'll be a free agent after that and he can go after all the money other teams are ready to throw at him. I don't think his bitching makes that much a difference to anyone on the team or in the league. League insiders (suspect it's his former agent) pretty much already said he wasn't 'promised' anything and that he has no leverage. What's he going to do, tank it on plays? Then we get to suspend his butt and take another chunk out of his salary. I wonder if these people are also suggesting that the Bengals, Browns and Dolphins simply let Chad Johnson, Kellen WInslow and Jason Taylor go for basically nothing?
you guys are fun with this, everyone just says get rid of him f him blah blah blah. face it he is important to this team right now. i sure as hell dont want bubba franks as the number 1 te. and if you are still thinking that keller is going to be an every down catching and blocking tight end from the beginning of the year i feel you are sorrily mistaken. everyone is so quick to judge the other man and call him a pos. i am willing to bet that if YOUR boss as baker claims (which may or may not be true) promised you a raise and then you got squat you would probably be a little pissed off too. i know i would so i tend to give him a bit of a break on all the bs thats going on right now. fact is he is a well above average te especially blocking and he is one of the better at both of the important facets of the te game. sure there are plenty of guys who catch more balls or have more yards but most, really almost all of those guys cant block to save their lives. i hope this thing gets worked out but if baker ends up somewhere else next year (other than with the dollfags) i will be rooting for him to have a breakout year receiving wise.
This guy doesn't matter. Pete Kendall mattered. Chris Baker could die in a forest fire...and no one would give a shit.
I say keep him on the roster and make him the backup long snapper. Actually, make him co-captain of the Flight Crew. Adam Schein ripped Baker a new one- he called him the "third best tight end on the team." He also mentioned, as you have, that the difference between Baker and Kendall is enormous. Kendall was, well, a very good player that the Jets needed in retrospect. This team won't miss a beat without him. It's almost comical watching Baker go through this because of how delusional he is.
Hehehe... no I'm not. I'm just saying why give him what he wants just because he's bitching. Lots of other players bitch throughout the league. These others guys are also currently in contract disputes. Their teams are holding on to them and nobody is telling them to just let the guy go. And I couldn't think of another nobody trying to push his weight around.
