Its a fair assessment though.....Greene has been a dissapointment considering where fantasy experts had him producing going to this year and our visions of him being a fulltime workhorse producing back. Outside of saying D'Brick is overrated and can't stop power....that was pretty freakin' dumb. Oh and "Sanchez sucks".........Sanchez has at least started a playoff game unlike Matt Cassell. That and Dwayne Bowe makes Braylon look like Larry Fitzgerald as far as consistency and hanging onto footballs go.
The Chiefs this year are in a similar position as the Jets were in last year- the surprise team that people didn't expect to get into the playoffs. You could have a better team next year, and will have a tougher schedule, but people will be comparing you to the previous year, and assume you don't measure up to your first playoff run.... BTW, I grew up in MO, and my parents are both from KC- I was a Chefs (and Jets) fan as a kid, when Len Dawson was on the team...and rooted when they won the SB.
It's the coaching. This team worked their ass off and shed 300+ lbs in the offseason, which means faster players all around. Fast defenses are the best kind. It's just amazing seeing what a good coach can do after years of bad ones. Average players suddenly becoming good. Plus a freaking grand slam of a draft this year.
Their schedule will indeed be tougher next year. Kansas City's 2011 opponents home- Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Bills, Dolphins, Packers, Vikings, AFC North winner away- Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Patriots, Jets, Bears, Lions, AFC South winner
I don't know, I think the Colts are starting to go downhill. Peyton has been throwing picks like crazy and their injuries are stacking up. Plus they aren't really preparing for the future well, they just put everything on Peyton's shoulders and let it ride. When he's gone the team will just suck again.
If the 2011 draft is anything like the 2010 draft, the sky is the limit. It's a really exciting time now. Lenny Dawson is the man. Real nice guy too.
Chiefs earned their right to talk a little smack. But they are going to be up against the smack talkers champion New York Jets and their fans.
Yep- similar to how our schedule changed after last year. And we're likely to end up at 11-5, not too shabby. Especially this year- I haven't seen this level of parity in a long time.
NFL Record & Fact Book Jets 2011 opponents home- Bills, Dolphins, Patriots, Chiefs, Chargers, Cowboys, Giants, AFC South 2nd place team away- Bills, Dolphins, Patriots, Broncos, Raiders, Eagles, Redskins, AFC North 2nd place team
That's because their village Broncos Punching Bag made a shittalking post in that thread, much like how our village Bills Punching Bag is getting jumped on in this thread.
Dexter McCluster. For some reason the Chiefs don't get him the ball much, but he's a scary player with the ball. Hopefully the Jets use the next two weeks to get healthy, because when you're short on safety depth, punt and kick return coverage becomes an issue. We saw it against Chicago, and while McCluster isn't quite on Hester's level yet, he's a dangerous return man in his own right.
What the hell have the Chiefs done since the 60s/AFL years that gives them permission to talk smack about anyone outside of their division? All I see in that franchise is a cry baby HC and Packer fan wannabe's.
