Yeah, I've noticed that he has been much more positive and actually had some halfway intelligent things to say about the Jets for a change. I think it's possible that he really respects Bowles and Mac, whereas before, he saw Rex, Idzik and Tanny as buffoons (and he was right), or as NotSatoshiNakamoto said, it could just be early. Once the team loses a game they should have won, or something bad happens, he could revert to ripping the Jets.
Cimini hasn't been all that bad for a while now.....he's nothing special at all in terms of knowledge but he's been generally positive Of course he still has a few lame and snide remarks when possible but it's whatever...he doesn't bother me
Cimini's articles in the offseason are usually pretty good, often involving past Jets greats. He has to work for his money when there's no Jets news. He's garbage during the season. Expect the usual darksider articles and think pieces, particularly if we get off to a poor start. I still don't understand why the beat writers offer weekly Twitter Q+A's when they typically know less than we do. Adam Schefter retweets do not equal journalism.
I love the drafting of Peake in the 7th. A perfect late round pick. A top-15 high school player with elite physical skill and measurables, who due to circumstances and injury didn't have a very productive college career. The big benefit is Peake finished his college career healthy and hopefully on the upswing putting up good numbers as a Senior. And Clemson is a WR factory, most of the top receivers coming out of Clemson in the last 3 years have gone on to productive NFL careers. Peake may not be Sammy Watkins or DeAndre Hopkins but he certainly can be another Martavis Bryant (without the suspension!) And if he doesnt pan out, it was only a 7th.
